sounds good. I've got some evening commitments this weekend, so if we can do this at least late-morning you'll get more out of me than a kick in the balls.
It's a crazy thought, but I think .83 is capable of riding during the day. We better get used to it; squids don't hold midnight races.

Racing is largely a mind game. If Langston's gonna be a whiny bitch already, we better get started on the mental prep soon. Plus, it'll prepare us for some inter-team smack talk :).

for example: if you can carry a fast pace for 5 minutes and ditch an assload of people, you can slow down and sit into a pack again. being able to go 100 miles is not as important as being able to break away with a pack going 20+ mph for 4 minutes or sprint the shit out of a medium long hill.

Shit, you're right. All right, hill training and printing it is!

You know, as for transportation, the Miles' Subaru sounds like a good idea. I also have a friend with a huge white (uh oh, where is this sentence going?....) van. We could stuff tons of bikes in there.

team .83 will not get the pleasure of checking out my ass this weekend.
i'm going to mason lake on saturday morning and then STRAIGHT home to bake the largest cookie turkey ever constructed by (wo)man.

but next week i'll be more freer. see you punks on thursday. maybe (homework duties may impeed upon my .83'in).

MOST IMPORTANT THING!
there is no mason lake race the weekend we all wanted to go. the 17th is the last one.

sucks.

Paperwork and stuff from www.usacycling.org. I just ran through this real quick during class. We should get together and talk about this after our training ride this weekend.

http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=666 We'd be registering as a club, and as far as I can tell, we wouldn't even be allowed to wear logos other than our own (without registering sponsorship). My new Surly t-shirt is out of the question, I suppose. Bastards.
http://www.usacycling.org/forms/clubapp.pdf It will be $150 to register the club. 10 members, 15 bucks? Not too bad, but we all have to get licenses!
http://www.usacycling.org/forms/license_app.pdf 60 bucks.
And don't forget your race numbers from WSBA!
http://www.wsbaracing.com/license.asp. 15 bucks. "Teams are encouraged to register as a group rather than by individual members."

About 90 dollars, plus day-of race fees for each race.

Both the licenses and numbers can be rented day of, but it's a lame way to go if you want to race more than twice. We could also skip registering our club and all buy licenses as "unattached," and just cooperate. Everyone will know we're a group by our clothes/bikes and tasteless jokes.

Brigade of pirates! Organized brigade of pirates! That's us! Made my goddamn day.

Also: I'd like to race, but I'd have to put together a bike for it. How much does racing cost?

we should get Dicks, every taco truck in seattle, and PBR to sponser us.

i know we've spent more than 150 dollars on pbr as a club.

I'm interested but am probably not in competitive shape now. Plus, my liver has been getting more of a workout than the rest of my body this past week in Florida.

I've also only got my Jake the Snake CX bike. I do have a reliable car and and am willing to buy a three bike trunk rack to carry bikes.
