apparently it's ~ $30 to greyhound it to vancouver, then you could take the tswasasasasessewsn ferry over.

That's actually a pretty good deal, I'll have to check to see if the dirty dog allows bikes.

I'm pretty sure a whole group of us was already planning on riding our bikes up there together, and then taking the ferry across. It's on some other thread.
Only the dates have changed now, so I'm out. Bummer! Anyone else want to go on a bike-trip with me mid-April? I have the time off work for it now and everything.

99% of seattlities are flakes. getting promises is the easy part, people who say they will show showing up for the event is another story.

SUre, I agree. I already put in for the time off work, so I'll go if a group gets together to go.
I'm not going to commit any more than that when there's just two of us for right now. Anyone else?

dually noted.
should bring this up on a ride or 2 and see if we can fish some others out.
after seeing 3 kids last week at polo who are looking to find our ride times and location, i am realizing that many people don't check the board for updates. might be able to fish a few out that way.

well, i guess i should tell y'all now: we don't let homophobes into canada.
oh yeah, and recyclistas is chock full o'queers, as well as a ton of folks who are good friends of queers. so... if you use the term "gay" as a synonym for "crappy", "dumb", "boring", "pathetic", etc., you're not welcome in our bike community either.
just so that's all clear before y'all bother getting passports or riding all this way.
;)

I'm interested, but I'm not promising anything yet. I'll check my commitments.

polo sucks for you man because most polo bikes put your knees at your ears. don't hate on the vertically challenged.

I'm pretty sure gay was being used as a synonym for crappy in a making-fun-of-people-who-use-gay-as-a-synonym-for-crappy kind of way. We're way progressive on the progressives down here. No homophobes in .83
In fact, lots of queers ourselves. Didn't you check out the April spread in our calendar? Or see the thread earlier today where people were talking about how I am a gender therapist?
Basically, no worries. We're cool.

While being like minded, it's nearly impossible to not make a joke about this somehow. I think I'll resolve this internal conflict of "respect for people" versus "humor at someone's expense" by mocking your inclusion of the word either at the end of the sentence. Seeing as there were no other options for rejection from your bicycle community, it seems silly to imply there were other reasons your community would reject anyone from Seattle.
Muhahaha! Your sentence has been mocked.

it's difficult, just from message boards, to gauge these things. all i could think was "oh fuck, i'm gonna get in so much shit if .83 kids come up here and throw around homophobic slurs!"... i figured i might as well put it out there that we don't like that sorta thing.
yeah, i saw april in the calendar ;)
but... i mean, girls getting all kissy is pretty common and doesn't mean there isn't gonna be queer hatin' going on!
and no, i'm afraid i missed the post re: your gender therapy career... but i'll go look for it now.
it's fine.... now y'all know who you might be dealing with if you come to vic, and we know that you're cool with it!

No need to worry this group is made up of mostly faux-mosexuals.

Before we got thread derailed by the insidious Canadians and Henry's Donkey Penis, we were talking about riding up to Victoria

It looks like I'm able to make this one. We should definitely start prosyletizing for the ride, though it would help if we nailed at least the basics down.
When were you fine folks planning on leaving? The morning of 4/12?
