In my copious free time, I decided to create a checkpoint race course that you can run any time you want. In an abuse of terminology, I dubbed it a 'Permanent Alleycat'. Check it out here:
Oh, yeah, and please don't post spoilers in this thread. But feel free to ask questions; you can always PM me.
P.S. Miles, this is what I was doing last Tuesday when it took me 2 hours to get from Greenlake to Golden Gardens. It really slows you down when you stop and read every last plaque and sign.

I vetted this yesterday, but that doesn't count as one of the 3, since I need other pairs of eyes to catch anything I may have missed. I found a few things that need tweaking, but nothing major. I was surprised how much fun it was, even though I already knew all the answers.
It took me a little over 3 hours and I went, oh, between 20 and 30 miles. Now, of course, I knew where the checkpoints are, so I gave myself a handicap, and ran a few errands along the way: to the library for DVDs, home to sort the mail, a shoe store to buy some Superfeet, etc. This hopefully erased any prior knowledge advantage. The one advantage I couldn't figure out how to compensate for is that I know where the last checkpoint is, so I planned my route accordingly. You may not be so lucky, but that just makes for more time on your bike!
