the pi reporter who wrote that article is an old cycling/sailing friend of mine from Western. He could book up cable street (one of the steepest hills in bellingham) at about 25. Last time I saw him a couple of years ago he was moving to Seattle to put his journalism degree to use. Looks like that worked out for him....
