hi!

if anyone ever wanted to try crit racing, i guess there is a series of crits held at seward park every thursday till august starting at 4 30 pm. the entry fee is 10 bucks but you can win cash prizes and it looks pretty informal.

so. . .if you think you are fast and stuff you should try and then go drink lots of beer at .83 afterwards.

I like how on the race flyer they only give driving directions to Seward Park, utilizing the interstate!

Not everyone who races is from Seattle. Some people might want to save their energy for the race, rather than spend it on a 100 mile ride getting to the race.

Oh the hypocrisy!

It's really convenient for those who work downtown (ie, not me). It's a fun crit series for anyone that wants to get started racing. Expect lots of lycra, and a fair bit of carbonium if you do go.

Sure, but notice how driving directions are the only directions on the flyer?? That was my point.

Oh, and I like to arbitrarily discriminate against people from the suburbs. It's what I like to do these days.

The boat street crit is pretty fun to watch. I think I'll drive down there this Saturday, probably leave the van running while I watch!

I had to look it up as well. Prize to the first person to put that picture into the wikipedia article

Heidi, the fact that so many of your bike friends needed to Wikipedia your weekend bike plans, indicates your racing problem might be getting out of hand. Watch it, or we'll have your spandex confiscated.

I applaud 66.15.211.24's efforts to defile wikipedia. You made it one minute before being reverted, at which point you snuck in a broken edit that no one seems to have caught... yet.

Your revision of the Jakob Nielsen article is pretty solid. But I'm not sure about that derrickito kid.

If you wait for the pro 1/2 race (theoretically starts at 4:05 but they are rarely on schedule by the last race) you can heckle .83's resident squid (me). The start is sure to be a bit somber given last year's loss, but it's a great race to watch. That last corner is an exciting one (120 degree downhill turn in a pack at 30+ mph).

Note: Depending on weather I reserve the right to be a pussy and keep my skin firmly attached to my leg rather than spreading it across the wet pavement. Regardless there are sure to be a couple of good crashes throughout the day so come watch the carnage.
