Why is it that i continue to get pissed off when i see this stuff? You'd think that i have read enough idiocy on her majesty's royal internet to be immune.

I understand that the author intended it as satire, but it's just a bit too close to the majority opinion not to be interpreted as serious by the Goons.
In other news, how about that fucker on Lake Washington Boulevard last night? Am I officially old since i've, for the most part, lost my urge to smash windows when that kind of thing happens?
Yeah crappy satire, not worth any more bother than a Schram piece...note similar comments to pedestrians...how did you even find this, it isn't even on my media radar.

NO - I am 100% work-at-home via a broadband connection using SSL tunneling into my company's intranet. I have access to all internal databases that I need to do my work. In my opinion, this is the only way corporate America is going to be able to respond to the necessity to cut down on commuting and carbon based emissions.
Success.

Yeah, that guy's behavior was borderline criminal. Make that incident #2 in as many weeks when justice was not served.

Dude, that article is almost the perfect troll.
Just not quite possible to tell what he actually thinks, each sentence might be scoffing at cars or bikes, and not funny enough to get by on that merit.
What an attention whore.

some dude on LWB last night made an aggro pass with his horn down the whole way, some other dudes (on bikes) tried to make chase, he swerved around and slowed down in what looked like an attempt to cause a collision

Were you there? Were police called? Discription of Vehicle?
Many years ago now I was leading a group north on Beach Drive and an irrate drive passed us aggressively and then jumped on this brakes right in front of me. I couldn't slow down quickly enough to avoid rear-ending his ass so I laid it down and began to slide under when the fucker accelerated away.

on the scale of asshattery, i don't think this guy was particularly exceptional. some folk kind of egged him on a bit, from my view (way behind). correct me if i'm wrong..
in my opinion it's a waste of effort to get pissed off every time you encounter an asshat. i shoot for about one in ten.

There was spit involved, but I could tell the driver wanted it to get ugly before that happened, he was already swerving to prevent a few riders from passing him.
Nobody seemed pissed enough to remember his plate number, but it was 613-pnx or something. Didn't see what kind of car it was, they're pretty much all metal boxes to me now.

That was pretty much my opinion also, so I posted this:

Bemoaning the sad quality of trolling these days
Really, this is a slightly more erudite version of standard anti-bike troll that we see every now and again. This sort of thing would hardly get a raised eyebrow from most of the rb.misc usenet denizens.
As satire, it misses the mark, because it's far too close to the majority opinion of the populace. Most people in cars view bikes as illegitimate users of the road. Johnathan Swift the author is not.
Using the standard trolling point system:
*Point score*
Novel suggestion that bikes cause traffic: 5
Mention of sidewalk riding: 5
Threatened violence: 6
Erroneous talk of gas taxes paying for roads: 5
Working in pedestrians: 5
Excellent spelling and grammar [1]: 10
Mentioning law breaking of cyclists: 5
Studiously avoiding lawfulness of car drivers: 5
Forgetting to call bikes 'toys' [2]: -8
Gratuitous bit about bikes on freeways [3]: -3
No comparison to communism/socialism: -4
12 lb helmet [4]: 3 bonus points
Total: 34
A pretty good troll score overall, but I really feel like Mister Palmer can do better if he tries very hard.
[1] ] A well formatted post makes less people recognize you as a troll and can quite often net you a big fish. Bravo on the decent line lengths.
[2] Really, that's just laziness.
[3] Your post would have been better without it really. Don't confuse people with facts.
[4] I love the image of the pink streamers. I really liked that particular bit.
