Tolls could be a way to finance the bridges and 405 work that has to be done, either way. Go to the east coast, and midwest, almost all the highways are toll roads.

I like that they're at least looking side the box for solutions, not just running out another regressive tax.

A user TAX that will cause drivers to THINK every time they fire up the horseless carriage about whether the trip they are about to take is really necessary and/or if it could be done using another form of transportation.

These taxes have been successful in London, England.

Not true. There are _some_ toll roads. Good luck finding one in Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. etc. The only one I know of is the turnpike east out of Chicago (? or somewhereabouts).
