It's a good thing I could never, ever live with a car that gets 7mpg. Otherwise I'd have a '64 Continental parked under the viaduct right now.
Trying to leave my car at work for the entire month of May. So far, so good!

Vintage cars, and I include oil-draining 1978 Ford Vans in that category, get a free pass.
Are you thinking of buying that car? If so, you should.

Don't feel guilty on account of me. I have fond memories of riding my dad '51 Chevy when I was a kid. Even if they include walking home after running out of gas one night or being afraid to open the window cause the door handle and window crank looked similar and I was afraid I would open the door and fall out!

im not into 60's muscle cars.
i love the occasional mid/early 60's caddy (i had a 66 coupe deville)... but muscle cars? negativo.
lead sled all the way. i want a daily driver hot rod/rat rod looking car. even if it is a 4 door like the chevy above :)

There's a '48ish chrysler new yorker collecting dust in my grandmother's garage. Every time I think about it I wish I could take a summer to get it running again.

Just don't park it under the University Bridge, unless you're aiming to be on every local TV station in Seattle.

It's a '66 with a 289 (that's right, 8 whole cylinders of gas guzzling fun).

60's muscle doesnt have anything on late 40's or early to mid 50s cars (my loudly humble opinion)
seriously. 50's mercury, chopped:

Actually, that's chopped, channeled, Frenched and slammed. That black one is awfully nice. Way cooler than the green one.
I'd take it over 60-70's muscle any day too. But it's gotta be primer black, pinstripes optional, alloy wheels not allowed, neon paint earns you a beat down.

this car lives on capitol hill, somewhere between broadway and 15th around denny, and i want it badly.
look at them wheels! you know that inside there would be a switch, and if you hit the switch, you could make the ass drop.

Those are some damn sweet cars!
I will admit that I kind of like muscle cars. Cars with some style.
I like 60's Mustangs, GTO's and those cute cars that look like a short pick-up and I am not taking about Subaru's.
If you are going to burn some gas, do it in style!
I should have been an auto mechanic.

For those who don't already know, you can get your fill of carbon-belching penis enhancers (as well as some electric cars) here:
simply a legacy, if i owned another classic (had a 67 stang drop top 302, then a 65 caddy 2 door w/a 5?? mega huge hippy eating v-8) it would be this hands down.
nostalgia

That wasn't my car. It was my best friend's and we were both mountain biking. We carpooled there!
This was my car:
Mine was blue, got 13 mpg with a 289 engine. You could see the gas gauge go down when you hit the gas! But I could catch air going up the counter balance.

Datsuns Rule! I should never have sold our B-210. That was a great car.
It got 35mpg and was a 1983 model year.

man, I sold one of these just over a year ago. Built 390, lower than low, flame throwers in the exhaust, good times!
Derrick, the garage I did all my work in is used by Boyd Coddington's painter. It's over in Bremerton. If you need a chop, drop or flame throwers I could give you some pointers.

I love the old Datsuns, I LOVE 'EM. Also, I love the 40's and 50's Mercs.
That said, I've been to Japan a few times and I also love some of the newer cars rollin' around there.
Mitsubishi "i"
Suzuki Every Wagon
and the Nissan Cube
Sorry to wreck your car nostalgia with newish import stuff.

That's the Plymouth and station wagon version of my favorite car that I owned. It had the old style of 318 and a push button transmission. Also, the vertical bars of the dodge grille style were much cooler, as was my primer black paint job.

I've owned a '64 Impala, '67 Caddy convertible, and recently sold my favorite car ever... a '59 Nomad wagon. And oh yeah, I start here as an Art Director on the 21st. Yay petroleum! It's actually quite the source of internal conflict... loving old gas-guzzling iron and bicycles at the same time. I reconcile by drinking lots of beer.
