I heard the guy who posted this talking about it at Squid and Ink. I'm pretty sure the whole thing came off ebay, and he said he was parting it out. I kind of had a bad feeling about the BB from the way he talked about it. Like if you looked at it, you'd be unimpressed. But who knows.

Don't worry, I wasn't going to buy it. It just seems like every time someone has a frame with damaged threads for sale it was "somone else" that did the damage.
At any rate, all anyone would have to do to use the frame no matter how fucked the threads are is get one of these for 19 bucks. Never used one, but I guess they are like the old Mavic BB's.

Harris/Sheldon was excited about these back in Sept 2006 but I guess the copies they got they were not happy with. Their BB page has since removed them and I don't recall what the main issue with them was.

and by "dump," they mean, "garage." and by "found," they mean, "broke into while slinging bolt cutters and can of grape Joose, simultaneously considering the uselessness of punctuation."

Guess this would technically be a dual ebay/CL fucktard...
"Single Speed Road Bike - $150 (Lower Queen Anne )
I'm selling my single speed project. I just dont see myself using it that much. I'm a sissy and need gears! Anyway, a little background on the bike. I bought this off of ebay a few months ago. I have no idea what brand of frame it is. It was "custom painted" by the guy who sold it to me. It looks like a standard aluminum road/hybrid frame with 700cc wheels."

I hate to say that somebody parks one of those eyesores next to where me and GS Barnes park at the UW - with a trailer. I've twice moved it to a different spot on the rack because they don't actually lock it up and I was wondering if they'd notice.
I've also done that with a pretty expensive looking aluminum Trek racebike I used to see there. They actually did start locking up properly.
Maybe the GMC guy supposes nobody would actually steal it.
This guy is an asshole. He's been posting this thing for more than a year. I emailed him to see if he'd mail it to me and he would not. It's pick up in Federal Way only.
What a dick.

Man up Jeff and bus it down to Federal Way to pick up your fuzzy 5$ seat cover. Put your bike on the rack if you want.
I'll now leave you to ponder the inequity of the terms "man up" and "your fuzzy seat cover" being in the same sentence.

Weird, the exact same bike was on sale last week on CL for half the price.
What a coincidence, huh? I was totally gonna jump on that bike for $275 but somebody snatched it up before me...
Anyone know these guys? Am I missing something that makes this worth it, or is this as lame as it seems?

There is a lot of elbow grease time in polishing all of those parts. That isn't worth $300-$400 to me.
I do think an overhauled used bike is worth more than a typical CL used bike if the overhaul is a quality one.
I don't think I'd want the weird 1x all nipples in front wheel build. The only reason to build that way is to save time or look cool, it doesn't make a better wheel.

True story, Monday my friends & I are playing some rock band, but with the door open to alleviate our guilt for playing video games on a beautiful sunny day, when an old guy walks up on the porch, pokes his head in, and askes, "do you guys want to earn some chocolate?"
Intrigued, we ask what's up and find out that he lives across the street and is moving some fencing into his yard from the house two doors down. So we help him carry the fencing, and then we climb into the back of his van and drive down to his candy store, which is closed mondays. We walk in past the envious kids on the sidewalk and he proceeds to fill a couple paper bags with truffles, czech toffee, pecan turtles, fudge, and other confections. Then we get back in the van and drive home. Nice Guy.
