Maybe it's Tacoma Dude and he is gonna stimulate a demand for these, one victim at a time.

I'm on the fence here.
My grandma used to sell grave plots, caskets and crypts before she retired.
Part of me cries foul, part of me recognizes the system.
Fucking Tacoma dude.

Hmm. Not sure what to think about this as well. I mean there's really one one use for these now, and that's as ghost bikes- no one is going to buy these with the idea that they will fix them up. HOWEVER, I would be pretty sure that they didn't pay a dime for them for their project or whatever. Trying to sell them for 50 a pop is insulting to say the least. There's only one thing that you can do with these, and trying to make a profit off of that is I think pretty callous.
This isn't the same as cemetary plots or mortuary services and products - those are purchased with the intention of creating a positive memory or have potentially perpetual upkeep as part of the purchase and so there's a cost associated with that.
This is just profiteering off of misery.

Craigslist: We used these bikes for stage props during a series of messages at our church
In the ad it says these are leftover props from a church production - he's not mass producing them. I'm not sure what the production involved, but I don't see anything wrong with selling them for a very modest price to recoup prop costs. I can't imagine they got all 15 bikes for free as Joe suggests. I'm assuming the money is going back to the church. I agree its weird to be in the business of selling ghost bikes but I don't think that is the intent here.

To give the seller credit, Surly seem to have really high resale values on craigslist. My buddy bought a used LHT 5 years ago and recently resold it (~$800) for more than he paid when he purchased it!
I advised him hold off on dropping the price after it didn't sell for the first week, he had to wait a bit longer but these buyers are out there.
Also, if that bike has been in a considerable wreck. the angle of the rear drop outs to front drop outs looks like the chain ring would be sitting on the ground.

clearly they know exactly who's browsing the list and targeting you specifically.
how does the 15L compare to your current setup?

My current one is a 5 LB one exactly like this one
I'm not sure how to translate lbs of meat to liters but I think it's close to thedensity of water making this one about 6 times the capacity.

there are 2.2lbs per Kg and one Kg of water is the volume of one liter. So 15L would potentially translate to 33lbs of meat or like you stated 6x the capacity.
1 kg/L = 1000 kg/m3, this chart states ground beef is 881kg/m^3 so it is actually bigger than predicted.
Spoke nipples are located near the hub instead of out at the rim.
Drive side has that huge aluminum flange which was probably made that way to increase stiffness and/or make it easier to true the wheel without having to remove the cassette. Note that it is riveted onto the rest of the hub shell, in later versions was all machined as one piece.
