Anyone else going to the Bike to Work Challenge Captain's Bash tonight at the Pike Place Brewery?
Captain's Bash
@ The Pike Brewery. Team Captain's are invited (+ one guest) to a special happy hour party at one of Seattle's best Breweries. The beer is on us but you should try their awesome dinner menu!
I can take a guest if anyone wants to meet there 5:30-6:00ish.
I also think I can get two other people in if someone pretends to be the other Captain at my work and brings his/her guest.

So, I'll probably be there after 5:30-5:45 or so. I'm not sure how it works, but I don't imagine they'll have a velvet rope or anything, so if you're interested look for me or probably Lee, too.

I also will be in attendance alone. If someone else wants to wander along for free beer, I'll probably be there at six.

Damn it. I ditched my U-lock today (and rode a bike that I'm not going to lockup downtown) so that I could fit my camera and ride home via I90 to watch some of the crit races at Seward Park.
I can do that any week, this is once a year.
Oh well, I'll do it next year.

I should be there around 6:00 I think. I just sent an e-mail asking if there will be any special bike parking accommodations. Seem like there will be a big bike pile regardless. I'm sure your bike would be fine Alex if we had typical inter-locked .83 bike pile. I realized I forgot my lock today as well, no wonder my load was so light.

Can you reply to the thread if there is bike parking?
The owners bike commute on a tandem almost every day (and are cool folks in general, plus they liked the Oat Wine (Barley Wine with oats instead of Barley) that I made last year).

I hope you choke on your undeserved free beer! Lousy bastiches...
If it makes you feel any better, I'll try to show up. I've have 7 round trips by tomorrow, but I wait until the end of the week to enter them, like they tell you to (and unlike some people).
By the way, the rest of us who live near our jobs have already ceded the mileage crown to you mileage whores.

Mileage whore? That's nothing. I came in second for overall individual mileage two of the years I've done the challenge.
This year my mileage is much piddlier.

I was referring to people who post their mileage to the Internet in bold. As if living far away from your workplace is a thing to brag about.

Trevor you have that old saying mixed up and are working harder not smarter. Hey, can I have your e-mail address, I'm trying to get a free i-pod.
Seriously, if you can make it down we can probably get you in. I don't see Lee's +1 being claimed yet.

I stand corrected in your case. I guess if I were so clueless as to not be able to scroll down to the right form the first time I tried to enter stats, I'd read the web pages very, very carefully, too.
Still, Trevor, has it ever occurred to you that I might be more suspicious of the people who have had 9 commute days already? Guess I really must be slack-assed, taking those weekends off.

I was thinking of riding the long way and reporting that as my commute, but fuckit, who cares really. At least my speez team is 4th on the list for best team name, thanks to some email list spamming.
I'll be there at about 5:30, but no one will recognize me. ;)

Ha, ha! You went Aaron on me first!
I will define 'going Aaron on someone' as 'taking seriously that which was meant as the usual .83 insults and buffonery.

Probably a better pastime than hanging around Internet message boards all afternoon.
