I'm looking for a 3 speed hub that's in working condition. If you have one you'd part with on the cheap, I'll be glad to take it off your hands. Or, barring that, a 700C 3spd wheel would also work OK by me, too. I'd prefer a coaster brake, but I can work with anything. Thanks.

word on the street is that 20/20 just got a stack of old 3spd bikes from bikeworks, you might want to talk with alex? there are also a couple at the bike shack, though no coaster brakes iirc. aaron has a few hubs as well out at his shop, but no 3spd coasters the last few times i've looked. i've got an AW that needs a few replacement parts that aaron probably has, you can have it for free if you wanna fix it.

my recommendation if you're looking for sturmey-archer coaster hubs is to look for AWC's and avoid the S3C. the model is stamped right on the hub shell, as well as the year. the S3C has a known and very fatal flaw where the coaster brake doesn't work when the hub is out of gear.

I have an AW 3 speed that was working when I took it out of the wheel. Not a coaster. If you're interested, I can go dig in my parts box and see if I still have the cable and shifter.

I doubt it has many miles on it, add some light weight oil and it will probably purr. It was on my Raleigh Twenty, which I think spent most of it's previous life in a garage.

I was admiring that twenty on Saturday. Good to see that it's garaged life has continued unabated.

Up yours kemosabe.

Just because it's been in pieces for the better part of a year...

Actually I hooked up the rear drum brake on the S7 hub yesterday and fitted a new front wheel. I might even get it running sometime this summer at this rate.

Excellent. The red frame is mostly put together, needs the headset and cabling. A total shame about the paintjob on that frame...

Cool. I didn't get a chance to dig in my parts boxes for the SA cable/shifter. I'll try and do that today and then PM you details.

It's a lust tempered by my budget. But no, I didn't see the hubs!

Well if you didn't see them, just ask Denny! Either way, you found one or still need one. I saw a shit load on ebay just a minute ago! Seems they are coming out of the wood work. I have the parts for reapair, you need. That was a pun, reapair, get it?

Not exactly a model for the budget-minded, but...
