Wow has it really been two years since I have been able to ride the burke beneath the Fremont bridge then get my feet soaking wet from that huge puddle that forms on the west side in front of the fitness place.

it doesn't sound like it. I'm looking forward to getting the interchange open on the south side open, also. I use that trail quite often instead of riding on Fairview.

A celebration is planned June 2 on both sides of the Fremont Bridge, featuring live music, trolls, a dancing dragon and an inflatable obstacle course for point83.

No trail quite yet.

The Burke Gilman Trail section under the bridge’s north end (now rerouted to N 34th Street) will open in July, with occasional delays for construction through spring 2008. The Ship Canal Trail under the bridge’s south end will open sometime this summer.

The trail on the south end needs to be paved, but I won't hold my breath.

As someone who rides across the Fremont bridge everyday I am pretty pleased with the changes they made. The bike lane merges from the road to the sidewalk quite nicely on both sides of the bridge.

My only complaint is all the shitheads who insist on crossing the bridge going north on the west side of the bridge against foot and bike traffic.

that right turn at the south end of the bridge is still there, and still stupid, imo.

Agree, but they FINALLY put up a huge sign that says "Yield to Cyclists."

Still waiting for a giant sign that says: "Bow down and obey your leader" but I won't hold my breath.
