Conflicts with Night and Day. Something about that date must just bring out the sadistic event planners.

I'm having a birthday party that night.
It'll be cool.
Um ... is anyone doing this race or should i put on my own? Mine will obviously be way more fun because i don't really like hills.
Edit: Shit. I have to be at a dressy wedding at 7:30, which creates time problems for this race. I'll be spectating.

I got 3rd place!!!
This race had a lot of hills, a fair amount of whisky and quite a bit of suffering. I managed to find someone crazy enough to ride with (aka Sean) and we both did well. All told, me and Sean biked 43 miles and climbed just about 4,000 feet. Here's our ride on routeslip
The check points were easy enough to find and most of them had some kind of whisky, food or water at them. A lot of the riders were probably messengers, but I guess I was able to compete well enough. And in the end there were a lot of cool prizes. The first place people got some cool stuff. They got some cash and these polka dot messenger bags.
I talked to the guy who put it on and he says he's going to plan a bigger and better race next year. He was saying that he'll have a multi-day event with some kind of sprint and then a checkpoint race too.
All in all this was a fun race and I will for sure go to any other races Counterbalance puts on.
