Don't be silly. No one can win a race with a kid in a trailer behind them.

Awesome. my route, which I believe landed me in 5th place despite starting way back in the pack. If anyone finds video footage of the finish line I'd like to see it.
My bike computer tells me 4.25 mi, max 34.8, avg 21.6 at a total time of 11.53
My secret formula:
* Take the bridge instead of the bike path over the Duwamish
* Go diagonal across SoSoDo, which I attribute to
* following people that know where they're going.
I was still passing folks on weird mini bikes and mountain bikes and stuff until 3rd Ave S. Saw a guy get hit by a car on Corson, I think he's ridden with us before and fell asleep at Rogue. He's fine, though.

the guy who got hit by the car was behind me, so i think you were way behind 5th place. i really doubt you caught up with the leaders... i didn't lose sight of them, but i sure as fuck didn't catch them. i'm pretty confident i was in the top 25 or so. maybe top 20? there was a pretty big pack up there.
anyway: awesome race, pretty rad party. big ups to karma for delivering me the "1337" shirt. i'm pretty sure it helped me fly down the hill like the wind!
oh and you forgot one key pointer: stay in front of the tall bikes.

My highlights of the night:
1. Being stuck behind all these slow bikes going down Avalon
2. Sean crashed into an SUV
3. Paul won a tall bike jousting match
4. I pissed off Lucia - I'm sorry, whatever I did

I got a flat tire also! I parked right next to the portapotties, and was turned out to be blackberrys with a nice veneer of broken bottle.
I got a flat 1 block before the finish line, and Davis fixed one on the way to the ride.
Yesterday was Flat-tastic!

i missed all the "fun" due to the famn-damily getting lost in sodo!
lets hear it for lost spouses, hip-hip...awe shit
your all welcome, BTW, that I didnt own...i'm not very west shizzle savy. fucking missed the road and went for the ped side of the lower bridge...BAD MOVE as i successfully ate shit in the turn up the ramp, hit the concrete pillar and effectively assfucked my chance of a decent finish.
i musta been, i dunno...15th or 20th...somewhere cause i saw most of the rest of you bozos show up and i was already drinking...the ONLY beer i got for my 20 bucks.
lets hear it for pissed off spouses, hip-hip..grumble
p.s.
may be absent for a while till the sand is effectively purged from my significant others girly recesses. hip-hip (sneezesbullshit)

The next Dead Baby Downhill is next year. There are other races in Saettle though. They are pretty well advertised or mentioned here, Reload's, or Cadience's websites. There seems to be one about once a month or on three day weekends as a rule, but not always.
