They say there's no such thing as a stupid mistake unless you make the same one twice. I've made the same one three times (that's two stupid mistakes, if you're counting). This is the thing that keeps happening:

Wanting the thickest most durable tire I could get, I naturally keep on trying to put on a Soma Everwear. After checking for seating issues and such the guy at Recycled was putting my wheel back on when the tube exploded, deafening half the shop. I switched to Armadillos and went on my marry way.

One month later...

Tonight after eight minutes of inspection and waiting, having filled the tube slowly and pushing the tire down the edge of the rim (all the while grunting and squeezing like a _insert your own simile_) the tire explodes in my hand. On try two, the tire lasted one ten minute bike ride (skidding too!) and another hour of me doing the dishes before it deafened my roommates and me a second time.

While I'm glad to see my tire's stamina improve, I want to know if it's my rims, crap luck, or crap tires? What is going on?

rim size: 700
tire size: 700x26

I think I've solved the problem. I put on armadillos and it went nice and easy. Thanks for the offer of finding me, but I think my tire woes are over, at least for now.
