Bike-In Movie at Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill
BOAT
The Shackles
Like Claws
Bands begin promptly at 5:00 PM and local bike related short films begin after music.
Free!
An evening of music, movies, and bikes. Along with help from the Seattle International Film Festival, we’re proud to hold Bike-In Movie at Cal Anderson Park. In case you don’t know Cal Anderson Park is the big park on Capitol Hill, you know the one – with the baseball fields – across the street from the KFC, and a black away from Neumos. Yeah, that one. The music will begin at 5:00 and features two great up and coming DIY bands and one almost established indie-pop sensation. Opening is Like Claws, a one man band (sort of) who makes music deeply rooted in pop sensibilities, which has a sound that ranges from acoustic folk to electric pop. Headlining is BOAT, a band you should already know from their last two performances at Vera, especially their epic show at the Capitol Hill Block Party with only 2/3 of BOAT there. BOAT have been riding their dynamic pop sound all the way to heights as high as many mentions by Pitchforkmedia. The Music ends at 7:00 PM (which gives you more than enough time to get down to Vera for POS) and then is followed by a handful of short films about bike riding provided by SiFF

Hey this thing was actually pretty fun, if totally fucking nerdy.
Henry's ass even made an appearance.
Dave made blended drinks via bike powered blender.
And only one hobo deserved to get stabbed, but sadly wasn't.

You missed one of the fast friday kids bunny hopping over a hobo. Once from the front (bold!), once from the back.

Yeah it was alright. I didn't know anyone there and I just kind of wandered around, awkwardly watching the fast friday kids doing cool shit. But since I didn't know any of them and I haven't been riding a fixie long at all I decided to stick to the shadows.
