I'll bring the tequila and the ramp.

Somone needs to bring a bike though! Preferably a kids bike or something.

this sounds like a great way to lose a bike in a lake. you might want to consider adding flotation devices to the large metal object you're jumping into the lake with.

just a thought.

Henry IS a flotation device.

OK, so as long as everyone makes sure to attach Henry to the bike before they jump it into the lake it should be fine.

Sounds like fun, but I'll be busy converting my old road bike into a fixie. Maybe next time.

OK, I've got a nice case of road rash right now and there's no way I'm letting Gunk lake water touch that. However, I do have a pair of bikes that can be used.

The former downstairs tenant in my casa saddled me with a metric shitton of her crap when she moved out including a pair of excrable WallyMart style bikes. One's a women's size minus back brake and the other is an 10 year old kid's bike.

Both are stupid and rusty and I've been looking for a good excuse to get rid of them in a manner more productive than the dumspter that doesn't involve saddling some poor schlub with them that thinks they are viable means of human transport.

The only caveat - I don't get these bikes back when we're done. They are someone else's problem.

Anyhoo, PM me, I'm just a couple blocks from the SW corner of Woodland Park at 49th and Greenwood.

I also have some scrap plywood to use for the ramp - I want that back when we're done, though, it actually has some practical value.

[edit] Although I have no desire to sully my pretty pretty dermis with protozoan plague perfused lake water, I am happy to rot my innards with ethanol with you bozos.

This sounds rad.

Empty 2L bottles duct taped to the frame and bars are good flotation.

I'd be up for later. Try not to get arrested before 8.

Be like Tinker Juarez!

I'd recommend getting a minibike and covering it in swimming pool noodles. Like this:

Suitable bikes are about $5 at Goodwill.

More photos from the Bruised by Bike lake jumping here:

They jumped off of the main dock at Greenlake.

What i read there trevor is that you're offering your trike? Honestly i think it's a bit heavy, but at least we'd have some speed going in to the thing.

i was out of town monday and tuesday ... now i'm catching up with "work".

Well, I've still got two craptacular bikes that don't even require forum Henrynanigans to get me to part ways with and some scrap plywood. Tomorrow also looks pretty decent. It's predicted to be around 70 or so by the time we ride. If we had a prefab assembly session today, perhpas we could combine the two?
