i'll be borrowing a B.O.B if it fits on the trike.
If that happens, i have my red panniers to loan. Theyre not full size, but they'll hold a night and a day of shit.
we will also have a Rodeo to load up with items. Annie will not go up with us as shes gonna do some volunteering at our sons school for a bit. Shell meet us up there in the afternoon (remember its like just more than an hour drive), so the option to go light exists to a degree.

or, if you're derrick, mop some out with a piece of bread and then just stick your head in there and go to town.

Anyhoo, what are our travel/packing arrangements? I assume we're driving to the Rattlesnake Lake parking lot and departing from there. Do we have any vehicle other than Trevor's going to the the campsite?
I have access to a dual burner Coleman campstove and can bring vittles along.

As for the food, are you thinking communal cooking or each <wo>man for themselves? Either way the Cle Elum Safeway is in decent proximity of the destination (better to lug food from there than the whole distance) and would be a great place for bikers/cars/unicorns to regroup.

Let's at least meal plan ahead of time. Last camping trip we all wandered around Safeway somewhat aimlessly and ended up with random (but tasty) things like Oreo's, orange juice, tortilla chips, and items for Henry's homemade salsa.
We can pre-plan a reasonable (fiesta?) dinner meal and buy things at Safeway. Everyone is on their own for breakfast, ja?

so if we're driving out and leaving from rattlesnake lake at 8am-ish, how are we getting there? can we get folks who can haul people and bicycles to north bend listed in the first post?
if anybody's interested in bike-bus combinations from seattle, route 209 runs from the issaquah park & ride at 730 on and puts you in north bend at 830. it takes a little while to get to issaquah from seattle, so it'd be an early morning and a long day. not nearly as long as riding the whole way, though.

I'm driving to Rattlesnake. My bike rack can carry 3 bikes in theory but tends to get cranky over 2.

OK, we *really* have to start doing some serious car planning. As of last night, we've got 2 cars lined up that can carry 6-7 people to Rattlesnake. We need at least one, probably 2 more cars, folks. Who can step up here?
Also, Trev, how do you want to handle bringing gear up in your wifemobile? Drop stuff off at your place?

i know i flung shit at the whole exit 38 climbing ider, but it really Is gonna suck donkey dong after all the recent rain. those routes dont get much light and are not much more than moss pockets by now.
of corse it wouldnt be a pointee3 trip without some sort of insanity.
oh, and if you fuckwads wanna eat, lets get a dinner idea going...unless we just wanna go into town and eat at some of Roslyns finest establishments (holds back gag reflex). as of right now it's a total of 70 miles with 5600 feet of climbing, 50 of those miles are gravel/off road.
ouch. seriously fucking ouch.
i've ridden the wayne trail many times before and let me tell you the distances are longer than you think.
that being said, i'm in sans laura, which means i have a car that can hold an additional 4 people and 4 bikes.
where exactly are we camping?
are you whining...AGAIN?!? (and after that shit you put us thru on your trip, at least mine will be downhill the way home, baby). i'll pack tissues for you.
but seriously, the grade isn't that bad considering its a old rail line and leaving the JWT and going thru Cle Elum and Roslyn are also relatively smooth stretches.
But there is NO rush, it's not a race, so lets have fun!
Like I said in the overly edited first post, i'm going up Friday to locate and secure a site on the Salmon Le Sac river...hopefully right at the bridge.
I think leaving around 10 seems like the best idea, unless folks want more sleepy time or want more riding time.

I hope you guys have enough light.
Halloween weekend last year I left Seattle at 6am and rode to snoq pass (62 miles), got there at 1pm, maybe 45min to an hour total time stopped. One flat repair. The pace was pretty persistent and we were lightly loaded.
