UPDATE: Meet at 11am at Bad Woman Yarn/Trophy Cupcakes in Wallingford Center. I hope to roll south by 11:30, and Bad Woman opens at 11, so if you want to shop there, show up as it opens. Trophy opens earlier, so those of us just into sugar and carbo loading need not be in such a rush.
Down to Renaissance Yarns in Kent, then back to So Much Yarn in Belltown. So Much Yarn closes at 5pm, so we might not make both.
My cell phone: two hundred six, three hundred thirty, four thousand, nine hundred fourteen.
</UPDATE>
Alistair and Sarah demanded a second yarn ride, and I was just handed a list of yarn shops by my wife.
The main problem is that A&S wanted it to be on Sunday, and most of them are closed on Sunday. Is Saturday no good?
Here's the list:
Renaissance, Kent (Sat 10-6, Sun 11-4)
The Knittery, Renton (Sat 10-6)
Bad Woman Yarn, Wallingford Center (don't know the hours)
Village Yarn and Tea, Lake Forest Park (Sat 10-5)
Tricoter, Madison Park (Sat 11-4)
My wife notes that Tricoter has a 'reputation for being snooty'.
Anyway, either way I suggest going down to Kent. On Saturday, we can visit the one in Renton on the way. On Sunday, I suppose we could just head up to Acorn Street first, or over to Wallingford if they're open Sunday. But I need some idea of availability before I can do any more planning.

There's Hilltop Yarn, but I'm not sure if that's ride-friendly seeing that it's atop Queen Anne hill.
Anybody know a less steep approach to the hilltop? I usually just take Florentia and 3rd, but I go this way when the Fremont bridge is closed at night.

Yay! Yarn II features different Local Yarn Shops than the Hilltops & Yarn Shops ride! (Rogelio and nick.carter, we went to Hilltop on the last one.)
If we go to Wallingford Center to that new yarn shop we could get cupcakes at Trophy Cupcakes!!!!!!!!!
If you don't want to go to tree-ko-tay, another central alternative is So Much Yarn in Belltown.
A Saturday would work for me.
Shall I start working on a spokecard now/later?

i like the so much yarn shop, that's close to my office.
the first yarn shop ride was my first ride with you guys, i'm glad you're doing another one because weekends are really the only time i can go on these rides.

I can't speak for Sarah, but I'm kind of stuck for a while. My store is having it's massive sale, and I only have Sundays off until October. I would love to do this ride, but if everyone's closed on Sunday, I guess I'm out.
As far as getting up Queen Anne, I usually go up from the south, up Olympic, sometimes Taylor (which spits you out right next to Hilltop Yarn). From the north, my route is masochistic. I usually head west on Florentia from the Fremont bridge and turn up Queen Anne Ave. It's two blocks of ridiculous steep, but then you're done with the tough climbing. My buddy likes to ride up 3rd from the north, which is not too steep, but goes on forever.
I'll give Sarah a call and see what her Saturday's are looking like.

Fiber Gallery on Phinney at 70th is open sundays. Tricoter is snobby, so I think it should be the last, sweaty stop, ha ha.

Yes, Fiber Gallery is a great shop! We went there on the Yarn I. I think that the clientele at Tricoter are snootier than the people that work there. Hey, it's Madison Park! They do have beautiful yarn$.

Every Saturday in September (except the 1st) is open for us. The 8th is the camping trip, so I propose Sept 15. Can I get a few amens?
Lucia, go on with your spokecard-designing self.

Are those who don't know how to do anything useful with yarn still invited?
15th works for me (and I want a weekend .83 ride since I keep missing the camping trips due to being out of town)

I'm out of town for a knitting getaway on September 15. Amen to the 22nd or 29th.
Also, I just had an idea for the spokecard design!

I hope so, or I won't be able to go.
Poll added. I expect it to illuminate nothing, but there it is. Keep adding comments with what dates are good/bad for you, and I'll try to come up with a date later this week.

I prefer the 29th to the 22nd. I'm doing my make-up Sept S24O on the 22nd since I'm missing the Sept 8th one.
I think I should have a half vote since I can't knit anyway and missed knitting ride 1 to go to bruised by bike.

I can't say I have much need for yarn, but I'm totally in for the ride. I'm up for pretty much any weekend except the last weekend in September since I have to fly out to Georgia that week.

I'm out of the picture until the 22nd or the 29th, either of which work just fine for me. Sundays aren't usually too terrible, either. It's not like I need any more wool, but I do so enjoy riding bikes, fondling skeins, and knitting with lady-bikers.-N*

I'll put in a write in vote for the first Saturday in October. I just can't do any schedule shifting until the end of September.

Unfortunately I work all day Saturdays.
Fortunately I have Sundays off, and there ARE apparently yarn stores open on Sundays. So I vote for any Sunday in September.
Hurrah yarn. Anyone who wants to come and isn't already a knitter/crocheter should - we can have an instruction day and I'll show people the basics.

i agree with sarah, sundays are significantly less busy
sundays = slow and laid back
slow and laid back = grandma
grandma = knitting
knitting = yarn
+ beer

<3.
Sundays are actually a lot less busy for me than Saturdays, too, altho i do realize most places have further limited hours , so that gives us a smaller window.
i can teach spinning if we do a teach-in, incl. building a simple drop spindle.

Every Sunday in September is already full for me.
So your choices are: Sunday, October 7, Saturday September 22, or organize the thing yourself.

Referring to our earlier comments of working all day Saturdays, Alastair and I obviously vote for October 7.
I am not up for organizing, so if the consensus is indeed Saturdays, I'll wish y'all a fun ride and leave it at that. I do hope that we can agree on a Sunday, because this ride sounds great and I'd love to be able to participate.

You haven't settled on a date, but I just did.
October 7 it is. Can we get a sticky, please? And while you're at it, delete the poll (why can't I do this?)

Okay, true. So by the same token, by "us" I meant "me", because I do in fact slack off on knitting something fierce during the summer.

I don't knit, but I wear wool all summer. Ultralight merino wool t-shirts are the most comfortable clothing that I've found for hot days (even hot and humid days when I'm in the tropics). They are a lot lighter than cotton t-shirts and don't stink or feel funny like plastic/polypro ones.
A knit wool sweater would be a different story. They come out in oct/nov.
