Where is a good place to ride to from Seattle and camp overnite in one day? Didn't some of the nice folks of point83 go somewhere on Vashon for a party?
My 16 year old son wants to ride somewhere with friends and camp in a nice place. Not under Winnebagos. Kitsap, Vashon, Bainbridge?
Thank you!

Fay Bainbridge State Park is easy. Not the most remote camping experience you'll ever have but the view is nice. Good beach for making a drifwood fort too.
Thanks for your prompt reply. It sounds good, but judging from your picture, I'm unsure if I should trust you.

I'm going to Fay this weekend, it's nice and it's only about 6 miles from the dock. if you want to put a second day in, it's possible to visit all the public parks on the island in less than 40 miles.
have fun!

if there's one thing i've learn in the past few months, it's that Henry is one of the most trustworthy individuals on the planet. And an excellent moderator! The rest of these .83 schmucks can die in hell though. Lying bastards.

Do they need to reserve a space or pay to camp? Are there plenty of spaces?
Thanks,
eric

How many miles is he willing to do?
The DNR campground that we went to for Bens Country 2.0 is a good choice. It is a small campground (4 spots) with primative sites on a lake. The ride is about 40 miles each way.

He can ride 40 miles no problem unless he brings wimpy friends.
Where is that campground?
Thanks,
eric

wow...and he hasnt even met henry...wow
this guy should know that henry is a wonderful man and a true asset to our community. The work he's done for the abandonded children of .83 was not just heart-warming, but grounbreaking as well.
I also heard that Henry has come up with cures to a number of horrible diseases and a winning exit strategy for Iraq
The campground is called Alrich Lake. It is right next to a boyscout camp. There is no water (except for the lake) unless you trespass onto the boyscout camp, so bring a filter. Otherwise it's a nice place.
This was our campsite and you can see the lake in the background:
The lake itself:
It's a good find, I hope to go back before winter hits.

Yeah, that creeped me out too. Is there a way to settle territorial disputes in the TOS?
