Alright, I'm going to take a short break from looking down on rollerbladers to take my hat off to this crazy Gaul. I salute you, you insane frog for inventing a mode of human transport second only to being launched out of a catapult for danger and entertainment value.

PS: I still have no idea what makes this guy an 'Autobot' but really, I don't care.

Is that for real? The lighting of the guy looks wrong in a bunch of places, like in the tunnel. And the initial skating animation looks uncanny to me. It looks CG.

Pretty sure it's for real, I think the CG look is more from the low quality YouTube compression. Here's a link I found with some higher quality video.

Bonus: includes crazy Japanese game show (yes, I know, redundant) where, aparently, if your bet loses, you get shot in the face with a firehose blast.

OMG. doodz, that is sooo fake!

I've been to Grimselpass, and I'd just like to say that I'd rather ride my bike down. I can get as much of a thrill as I want trying to corner on a bicycle... Going down the side he did, the descent is much longer (the other side is only a 400 meter climb), but there aren't as many switchbacks. Beautiful scenery, though. I would stop the fast descent every once in a while to take a few photos (bikes have brakes! Imagine that.) Like I said in my trip report (you all read it, right?), on that descent everything surrounding you is either white, black, grey, or green from algae... it's eerie. I'm glad I saw it without compression artifacts.
Also, that suit makes him look like the character from MDK. I hated that game.

When they build a bicycle that can let you go 60 mph with your face two inches off the ground, then I think it might compare. I love my bicycle, and going fast on my bicycle, but the idea of riding down some mountain pass isn't as appealing as the idea of doing the same pass in that suit.

And he has brakes (hokey stop style, I would guess). How do you think he slows down for the turns?
