The above website mentions their motto: "Live, ride, die... Live"
Personally, I'd prefer to get all of my "live" in before I die, but hey...
I'd really prefer not to join up with these dudes. I mean, seriously, in like half their pics members are wearing spandex. Even the women. Does that make .83 holier than them?
True story: my youngest sister goes to "the most exciting university in the world! (tm)", Liberty University. I have an unpaid $10 indulgence fine for wearing my old DC area team's kit on a training ride during the week I let her borrow my hatchback to move her stuff to a storage place at the end of a semester. I actually got stopped and asked if bib shorts was "The Liberty Way" by the campus police.
You seriously can't make this kind of stuff up.

Moral of the story: Wear ratty cut off dickies to ride bikes.
For all of you who, like me, don't know what the fuck a "Liberty University is, here you go: www.liberty.edu
Quote:
Founded in 1971, LU is an independent, fundamentalist Baptist university located in Lynchburg, Virginia.
I honestly don't believe anything about .83 rides would actually meet "the liberty way". Even our harmless bicycle riding fails since we stay out and break curfew to do it. Plus, we encourage a "spirit of lawlessness" and "disregard for authority".

Liberty U reminds me that the other day, heading up to Myrtle Edwards, I came across a building that said: "Mars Hill Graduate School."
... I bet they give out Ph.D.s in evolutionary biology.

Mars hill is taking over my life.
I noticed the Mars Hill graduate school my self this week.
We lost Dean to the Mars Hill Moped Club.
I just helped at a photo shoot that ended up using the side of the mars hill building.
They're everywhere.

mars hill graduate school isn't affiliated with mars hill church in ballard. mars hill is the name of a hill in athens where paul preached to the greeks. there's only a finite number of biblical places that folks name their churches after. there's like three or four bethany churches in town, all unrelated beyond being christian.

and if I remember correctly, the Mars Hill Graduate School is generally mortified at the insanity spewing forth from the grey brick building in Ballard.

Miles's birthday picnic at Golden Gardens last Saturday was next to the Mars Hill Graduate School barbeque. Emmett kept wandering over to use their outdoor sports equipment. Thank God lawn darts have been outlawed.

I also don't see anything that explicitly bans any homosexual activity, with all the emphasis on buildings occupied by the opposite sex... Perhaps they'd say that falls under the broad category of "Immorality." But hey, at least you won't have to worry about getting reprimanded for room violations or an abortion.
