Hey, I hosted a party at my house about five weeks ago, and people brought the alcohol. As a result, I have a half case of Alaskan Amber sitting in my minifridge. Is it still drinkable (I have no clue what the shelf life of refrigerated beer is)? Does anyone want me to bring it Thursday?

Fair 'nough.

BTW, that took seven minutes to get a reply. I am truly impressed.

I must say, i've never had a problem with beer going bad in my fridge. I wonder why that is?

depends on the color of the bottle, how much light it has been exposed to, and the temperature it is kept at. the fridge is cold and dark so it will last longer in there.

it also depends on what kind of beer it is, some beers actually age very well. but ambers are lighter and not particularily hoppy so they don't last as long as belgian ales or stouts.

in short, taste one.

i'm afraid their all bad, therefore you should bring them to the appropriate disposal facility as this can be dangerous stuff!

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you open or attempt to consume such unstable product!

You are in luck as I am a certified Alcohol Disposal Technician and can aid you.

I had a case of Big Fat Tuba Lager (RIP) go bad in my garage stored at (uninsulated garage) room weather, after 6 months. That's all I can contribute, aside from helping you lighten the load of Alaskan.

nah, from a sponsorship deal with the tuba section of the HMB. We played a pub call for a few years running of Oktoberfest. First time I've ever been in a bar was the Red Door, before it moved.

The sponsorship deal fell through, obviously. I never heard back from the guy, although admitidly it fall down the list of priorities with the whole job-hunt thing.

Can't say I've run into this issue either. I could probably never make cask beer, because I couldn't bear to let it just sit there.
