I'm organizing a ride from W. Seattle, across Vashon, ferry to Pt. Defiance. Final destination is friend's house in Brown's Point, Tacoma (Commencement Bay?). Vashon is easy, but I have no idea about a bike friendly route from Pt. Defiance to Brown's Point. Any suggestions? leaving Friday AM.

The dumbasses of Pierce County have taken their downloadable bike map down, but luckily someone has it available online.
You want West Pierce County for this ride. I've personally taken 509 around the peninsula with the 'Points' once, all the way to Norpoint Way, I think. It was fine, although you'll be doing it in reverse. Consult the map for the best route out of Pt. Defiance, through downtown, and out to the flats.
