We ride in a little more than 3 hours! Right? It's a little quiet... are there just a bunch of fair weather bikers? Or is it just cause I'm an asshole?

Please note that The Fondue Ride is being planned for Thursday: www.timeanddate.com/counters/fullscreen.html?mode=m&year=2007&month=9&day=6&hour=7pm&min=0&sec=0&p0=234

If we're organized, and you're lucky, there will be more details later.

Please ride your bike until further notice.

I need to buy fenders. This morning's commute was a soaker... in retrospect, I should have stayed in bed an extra hour, and it would have been fine, but instead I decided to try to make it to work "on time" and ended up getting there looking like i'd just had a shower from the waist down.

the answer to the question "How wet can I possibly get in 15 or 20 minutes of riding?" was, in fact, "quite fucking wet."

in the spirit of the annual "omg it rains in seattle" line of conversation, I took got nicely soaked on the way in this morning. Flying down 30th SW (Snake Hill) was a riot, especially the blinking away of road spray at 40mph so I could (sorta) see.

Dry clothes in a Chrome bag FTW!

Aimed at everyone who rides to work.

Got a desk at work, or a place to store something the size of a shoebox?

If yes, then you can leave yourself a quick change kit. It should consist of:
- A full change of clothes which will not get wrinkled, or isn't deminished by being wrinkled. And by full change, I mean assume you were naked and this box was all you had to dress yourself with.
- A clean towel
- A bottle of rubbing alochol
- Deodrerant
- A comb/brush
- Any cosmetics you are expected to wear which you don't always carry with you

I was up-rigging high steel down on the puyallup fairgrounds during the downpoor... aluminum rope ladders in the rain suck... when you are the first person up and the one installing the fall arrestor up that aluminum rope ladder... it sucks worse...

True, true. I have two 21" CRT's for that, but for most of the year I have a small fan that's more than sufficient for drying things.

I wonder if somebody with that fetish must have written that list. Although if that were the case, I'd expect it to be longer...

I always thought there must be something more to the phrase "ants in my pants" than just a rhyme.

On drying shoes, just stuff your shoes with newspaper over night. That's worked fairly well for me. That's one of the strangest things I've learned from reading a set of instructions.

Yes, I was reading the instruction manual for a pair of shoes.

Hell, it works in 8 hours most times. But it takes about 4 sheets of the Weekly per shoe, and work twice as well if you change out the paper after 4 hours.

Rain jacket

Was it raining?
