it's a little pricey yeah, but yummy yummy in my tummy.
it's fun to go there for some greasy food and a few games of ms pacman.

speaking of ms pacman, i wonder if they want to part with some of their arcade games, time for me to ask.

I say this too. bummer that all the quirky, screwball places that have made this town so cool and fun are going the way of the wrecking ball in excahange for more clone-dominiums.

This place is loosing its soul faster than it can replace it.

I suggest we make a Tues or Thurs run by it soon...while we still can!

Save your pennies and quit your gripin' Langy. The small places need to charge more cause they dont suck from the corporate teat...duh!

You're on, Derrick. And why the hell don't I know about this Daly's place? Ride destination sounds good. I still have to hit up my favorite burger place in Lynnwood, Dave's Burgers. You can't get a good burger in Europe. Of course, I wasn't searching very hard.

The Point83 "Whos the Fattest of the Fatties" - "Cheeseburger Chowdown" - "Fattypants Eat Off"
i can make cheeseburger spoke cards.

we have willing contestants. we have a red robin just south of the university bridge.

suggest days and times. im initially throwing out Tuesday September 11th. we do a loop starting from red square like normal and end up at red robin? could also take a thursday ride (the 14th?) up to the northgate red robin? (more room at northgate, they have a big bar area)

1 cheeseburger, and as many plates of fries as you can eat.
winner eats the most fries in 1 hour starting from delivery to table?

im making this up as i go. thoughts?

This is true. If you work in computers you are a bad person.

Whether you like it or not over the last 25 years Seattle has transformed from a backwater blue color town that built airplanes to a center of innovation. With that came a lot of money, quickly. The growing pains are substantial, but when it comes down to it we're making progress. example:

Safeco Field is a much better place to watch a baseball game than the Kingdome ever was etc etc.

If you want to avoid this kind of progress please move to Wyoming or Alaska.

On second thought i do have one major gripe about condofication. The condemning of the Cha-cha building has lead to the creation of Pony which accomplished the near impossible task of being an even shittier scenestar bar than the cha.

Yeahyeahyeah... computer people selectively whine. (In my opinion that is due to the change in the psyche that comes from working in an industry wherein the gratification comes with finding rapid solutions to small problems... no one shoulda given us monkeys computers... )

Fact... the kingdome was the largest freestanding concrete structure in the history of mankind. Something like seven different engineering firms said it could not be built, the eighth said he could make it work.

It was also considered to be one of the most versatile venues in the country.

It was also paid for and not just an excuse for a team to raise their portfolio at the taxpayers expense. Have you ever noticed the amount of light that is used on Qwest field? I believe those are 20kW color changers. something like 72 of them.

We coulda had transit, instead we got 2 sports fields.

Young money makes bad decisions... I avoided working in the "vision" Sqlserver group in the early 90's, and I took off from biotech for reasons of social responsibility... really pissed my family off... I know that makes me an uncool loser... but I mindfully made that choice with the foresight of the ramifications of the industry. Probably cost me millions, I don't regret it.

we need a good 20 mile wide meteor to hit seattle... or anywhre... fuck gentrification... I want asteroidification.

erk... sorry I'm ranting.

henry, don't forget that when seattle's new condominium projects are complete, no citizen will ever have to be more than 500 feet from a quizno's.

also, i know you are huffy because you touch computers on the vagina for work or something but i swear to god we should institute a software guy cull in this city.

Wait, sorry, are you seriously saying the latest economic boom in Seattle blocked mass transit in this city, while the pre-boom Seattle culture would have given it to us? Dude, you seriously need to read up on some Seattle history.

Incidentally, by my count, this is Seattle boom number 5: lumber, gold rush, shipbuilding, Boeing, tech. Plus ca change...

ur. most people will want to not waster their time on this, it is primarily for Alex, Gregg, Tessa and Lee. For anyone else it will be a waste of time but why the fuck not use the forum as a mass rant distribution tool.

Alex wrote:

Christ Alex, I was ranting, I even said so... yer taking me too seriously... however...

<but acutally>
the first m$ft job offer I rejected was in 1989. I know a forklift driver that started in 1994, became a sysan and is more than a millionaire. I was coding in C when he was boxing Works.
</but actually>

anyway... all things aside... the .com destruction of seattle is not my idea... it's a pretty common opinion... computer magnates are the toadstool millionaires of this era... and one of their specific traits is rebuilding the world in their own image... hence candlestick park is gone.

but in rgards to not being a millionaire... thanks Alex, after dwelling on it I am enjoying being lower middle class again.

(BTW: Lee, you are far more qualified to be in .83 silver than I will ever be, you even have the pale skin and man tits for it. So sorry... I just do not have what it takes, never have and never will, if I did I, methinks I would kill myself. Hell, if the scale reads over 20% bodyfat ever it will be a staunch argument to killmyself. Fat == blatant amaerican consumer lives. Anyway... a rant about something that is gone does not mean you are old. I'm not saying... where are the good old days... I'm saying this city has become a vanilla pussyfoot wasteland of lameness. Where the fuck are the silver painted aliens running around on fat tuesday, where the fuck are the contract killers that kidnap people posed as seafair pirates, where the fuck is the wild craziness. And about the lawn... you just got an invite to my next party... I think you will be leaving something on my lawn, it will be good for the plants, you think Paul heaved, I have something special planned for you.)

(BTWII: WakingJonas... whereas I was not on Harry Donovan's crew that fixed the roof after the quake, I work with many of them. The roof was solid, the engineers said so, the repair crew said so, the demolitions crew said so. The thing that killed the kingdome was the poor acoustics and the poor sightlines... and the fact that manufacturing a new stadium increased our teams portfolio, it is a common politcal track taken by sports teams. I did not know however that it was not paid for... my mistake.)

(BTWIII: J... yes, cull them... and use a reaping scythe when you do... market crashes don't work.. I knew a web designer than went for years on unemployment sucking off our state teat because they wouldn;t work for less than $80k a year. wtf? and I don;t work with computer manginas or whatever, i work with people flying in the air and plant funguses depending on the day. I like the fungi more than the labia... harsh truth.. I'd chooses a powdery milldew over pussy anyday.)

(BTW:IV Barnes... no I am not saying that, I am saying that rapid economic growth has led to our city making many bad decisions. Another instance... building a convention center that bottlenecks our primary thoroughfare. Our city planners were the laughing stock of the country when we did that.

No it is not direct... it is more along the lines of... you get rich fast... you act stupid.)

pale skin and mantits? not exactly a requirement for .83 silver. semi-incoherent rants about the "good old days" and myopic assertions that the new age is categorically worse than what came before (but certainly not than what was before that)? if you're feeling that suicidal, you might want to stock up on more eyeliner.

(quickly, and then i'll leave you alone) :)

even without roof problems, what good is a stadium with poor acoustics and poor sight lines? my dad told me once that he had waited so long for aerosmith to come play seattle and then when he finally got to see them he was devastated because it was at the kingdome and the sound was absolutely terrible.

with poor sightlines, fans are then obligated to pay for a seat from which they can barely see the game and find it's better off to stay home and watch it on tv.

then all you have left is a structure that is essentially only good for home shows and RV sales, and isn't worth its terrestrial footprint.

i don't think it was a rash decision to implode the building and start over when we had the means to develop a more marketable structure. even though i know, marketable = the devil.

I was just talking asthetics... you got the old man opinionnated thing covered... yer gonna be a great old codger...

but eh... I'm always feelin suicidal dude.. comes with the package... ya learn to live with it.
But if I ever go over 20% bdy fat...well... that I can't live with. Soylent Green is a good idea, no necessarily the whole person... but maybee we should lipsuction off the fat peoples fatand inject it into starvin peeps... like have fat transfusion centers... (listen, I AM being at least semi-humorous here.OK? If I was being serious I would talk about enslaving fat people to spend 2 hours a day on a excercycle and feeding the generated power back to the grid.)
