koos...funny you mention the waving thing. I do this on a regular basis when anyone gives me a break. I'll wave cars past me too if i see that someone is freaking out about passin me. I'll use the lane and signal as often as it is safe and make sure that (when able) the drivers around me know WTF i'm doing.
granted i'll fly finger at the asshats out there, but it's a decent gesture to offer drivers. People in this town need some interaction.
that said, theres the chance i wouldnt be so nice if I wernt on the most obviously identifiable vehicle in town. Id rather NOT end up being hunted down like

Oh, I'm totally guilty of flying the bird. It's usually a signal of passion. In traffic there's only so much you have time to communicate, and educating someone on the rules of the road is time consuming. My favorite response from drivers is when they give me the "Oh shit, sorry" face. Then you at least know that they'll look out better next time.
For a good scare, we should make a fake ticket that looks semi-official. Something for those cars that we identify later, after they nearly kill us. Something that says, "you are being ticketed as a repeated violator of RCW 46.61.755".
