So i bought the last of the $350 fuji tracks from recycled. I'm pretty happy with the bike and i'm loving the fixed gear, but ReCy did a pretty shitty job of putting it together. The saddle came all the way off on my first ride, then tonight one of the toe clips on the shitty pedals that came with the bike fell off. Both of these incidents were just the result of things not being tightened properly.
After these two things happened i gave the bike a very detailed going over and found nothing else was dangerously loose, but i think those two things are bad enough to be of note.

Tommorow i'll be at my office at 43rd and 11th in the Udistrict until 5. I could meet you anywhere around the Udistrict during the day, or elsewhere after work.
be careful with the straps on the stock pedals for the fuji track, i snapped one when skidding a couple months ago and landed my testicles on the stem. might have just been the way my shoes had been rubbing, but just a warning.

thanks for the heads up.. i've pretty much decided those pedals are worthless and am going to stop by ReCy to look for some cheap used SPDs tomorrow.

YAY! glad you got a new bike. your other one looked either unsafe, or maybe it just _looked_ scary. hehe.
speaking of new bikes... i have something to show you.
want to ride tomorrow?

Yeah i most definately want to ride tomorrow. It might need to be kinda flat for me due to my newfound lack of gears though ;).

last night i finished my single speed so i am also without gears. flat sounds fresh to me (plus i have been very sick). we'll let denny do his own thing.

Well, I just removed my d-is-for-dumb-derailleurs a few minutes ago. Still throwin' it together. I'm up for a flat-ish ride in the evening time.

i could potentially be down for a ride tomorrow night as well. i know i keep saying that on tuesdays and have yet to show up for one, which is why i'm being even more noncommittal than i usually am this time around.

Ok i don't have my brake done or my gearing changed, but i'm totally down for the ride still. I hope to at least have the brake done in time for the ride. I just need to go back to ReCy and get a third brake lever... (the first one didn't fit the bars, the second one didn't fit the brake cable i have).

There is a Shogun frame outside Pagliacci Pizza on the ave if anyone is interested. Looks to be about 56cm (I held it up against my Raleigh), has a small dent at the front of the top tube, just behind the headset. The stem is sheared off, but it has most of it's drive train minus the wheels, still. I debated heavilly about throwing my lock on it while I caught the bus down into work...
