It won't be as fun as the fondue ride, but where are we going tonight? I vote for Carkeek, Discovery, Magnuson, Matthews Beach...something outside, we don't have many of these summer evenings left.

If we do Matthews or Magnuson we can come back up via the excellent climb to Wedgwood. It's a narrow, steep, wooded, rural road in the middle of the city.

oh? I am fond of this "cliff diving" you speak of. I was not aware of suitable cliffs to jump in city-limits. Bridges, there are many but most cliffs end in rocks

I hate you all, so I'm not going to ride today. That, and I'm working.

Get lots of flats for me.

The weather is suppose to be super nice today, too! I have a friend who wants to bait me into seeing a movie instead of biking. Maybe I can lure him into biking instead of seeing a movie.

Then walk. It's ridable on a fixed gear, it's only a 10% hill for about 3/4 mile.

Honestly if you can't handle Seattle hills on your fixed gear then you should get gears...

Let me see the dirt in 9.

The Discovery light house point and then the loop trail back out would be great. I'd scheme a more round about route over to the park though.

Aah, 42nd/92nd! My standard way back home after riding north. Quite lovely after riding a century, or just a short ride in the rainy October darkness.

I'm not sure I'd call it rural, though. The houses are too close together.

I vote for Discovery, best park in Seattle.

Swimming is why I suggested Magnuson or Matthew's Beach.

If we go to Discovery we should ride through via Blue Ridge. Excellent riding and a neighborhood that could use a touch of .83. Of course then we might as well go to Carkeek which is a better park than Discovery anyway.

Nah, Carkeek is the best park in Seattle. But it also has a sewage plant. Coincidence? I think not.

Is Blue Ridge one of the neighborhoods we were going to ride through to look at christmas lights last year? This article says it's a safe place to ride bikes.

yeah it is. There are a couple secluded (private?) beaches out that way. The only downer is that it is a bit of a dead-end neighborhood on some serious hills.

You can loop through it without hitting any dead ends.

You can't avoid the hills, but they are a lot of fun (both going down and up) and if you start from the north end then you have more descending than climbing. The only climb brings you back up to the top of Golden Gardens, where you just have another nice descent.

Stick - good choice in movies.

So do we have a pre-funk plan for tonight? I ended up sitting around at the 2 bells last time nursing a beer by myself in the dark while all you ungrateful kids were out having fun and never calling or writing letters even though I was in labor with you for 16 hours and spent 18 years raising you with my own two hands.

ah. I'm off 90 anyways, right at the Eastgate P&R. Curious, are there any other drones out here on the Eastside during the day?

I may be at the CIP, but can't ride due to party preparations and tomorrow's mountain climb.

Oh yeah, i'm having a house warming party tomorrow night. There will be booze, karaoke and 50s style edibles, whatever that means.
