No idea if these are any good. I think these are just unclaimed bikes they found around campus. Public sale is on Sept 18.

Who cares about the bikes, that liferaft is a smokin' deal!

And the Motorola Purse phones for $5?

I think there is really only one way to sum this up:

ZOMG.

some cool stuff getting auctioned off too. Nike athletick "Football" shoes, bunch of furniture, used athletic clothing, etc. Not to mention all the crappy 26' MTBs you can push away.

Oh yeah, I forgot not everyone knows about this place.

The Nike cleats have been there for ages, so no rush. Laptop computers typically go fast, though.

I hear there's a Boeing surplus store, too, but I can't walk there during lunch break and browse.

So it's open to the public on the 18th? What time and where?

UW surplus is nowhere as good as it was about 5 years ago. You used to be able to get all sorts of crazy lab equipment there. Guy I used to know picked up a working SEM for $200 so he could start a consulting company. I once snagged a full-size Sorvall centrifuge for $10 that I turned around for a $6000 trade-in credit on a new one.

I have a friend very interested in this. Still available? Anything wrong with it? Let's talk.

noon, and it's behind the police station on boat street. it really is a zoo for the first half hour or so, there is a guy who gets there at like 9am and just rushes in and buys up all of the laptops immediately. they are pretty reasonably priced.

it's a great place to buy furniture or office supplies though - that stuff doesn't move too fast and you can get a kickass desk or filing cabinet for $20.

FYI, there's an office furniture dumpster in Seattle off Terry Ave N. The building just south of the dot rents out office equipment and when it gets too banged & scuffed up they put it out. They don't actually even throw the stuff in the dumpster, it just sits out next to it and soaks up the rain.

It's never too early to plan ahead for the next office chair downhill race.

I work a whole 8 blocks from there too and I knew about it. It's been sparce every time I've been by there of late, and without a truck on-call, it's hard to plan.
