Anybody going? Anyone got some insider knowledge on the non-advertised "to-dos" while there? I leave in the morning.

I vote for getting lots of free stuff. Take a bag to carry your pilf and be realy to run back to your hotel to unload it. Schmooz for more free stuff. Scope out free beer early as it goes fast (see schmoozing). Try to go to as many industry parties as you can as they are good fun and result in more free stuff. Buy stuff when you can. Lots of people want to sell stuff rather than take it home, so watch for great deal on the last day.

"free" stuff is supposed to be for bike shop folks to test out and give feedback to the vendors. The idea is to sell stuff. Vendors assume if they give you something, and you like it and use it, you will sell it in your store.

Or write about it and publicise it. I'm not expecting to load up on "free" stuff, but I'm hoping to "try out" a ton of stuff.

Indeed, that is what I meant. In recent years it has been getting harder and harder to get honest samples because of all the 20-something boys running around with hard-ons for free bike parts.

Yeah - doing that for sure. They are now calling it the "Tour of Lake Mead" or something.

If you don't want to fit in on the hangover ride I suggest finding the nastiest all you can eat seafood buffet and eating lots of warm shellfish. That'll keep you vomitting all night and have you looking like you fit right in.

This year's was too. Some guy offered $100 to the winner at the start. I got 8th :) - Massimilliano Lelli (former pro) "won".

For all you gear-geeks, I've got all the bike pr0n you could want here:

Heavy focus on city bikes/long tails/etc.

Felt is making these. Not a bad option for fixed gear riders.
