Joined: 06 May 2006 Posts: 62 Location: Afloat somewhere in Puget Sound

I have rather randomly ended up in Minneapolis for the next several days with my bike and touring/camping gear, but without any knowledge of the area or any real plans.

Since I know a number of .83ers have spent some time here, thought I would ask for any suggestions for good rides, good eats, goog local brews, or other don´t miss things to see or do?

Also, any ideas for nice 1-2 night mini-tours outside the city?

My friend Gwen is a local rider and track racer out there. I'm sure that she and her friends could hook you up with rides, beer, and all that is necessary to survive a few days in the midwest. Shoot her an email at "gilbysteel - at - gmaildotcom". Make sure to get out before winter sets in!

Johnny will be in Minneapolis on Wednesday. He used to live there. He's not riding bike there this time although I am sure he will have a bike there. If you need anything.

Thanks guys. I've been having fun exploring the area by bike over the last few days, some great riding here. I got some good info from some of the locals, and even happened across a big tangle of single track mountain bike trails in the woods just off one of the paved bike trails, which I explored for a while. Lots more to see, but I'm starting my trip back to Seattle later today.
