Prefunk: I'm gonna ride from downtown to ballard at about 4:30 to 5. any of you underemployed hooligans care to meet up at king's hardware for an after school special (bacon burger with peanut butter instead of cheese) and some pitchers?

Knitta, please, you should see my sock drawer!
Laura, Aden, I might give you guys a call after I get out of rehearsal to see where you're at. I long for more bike-love in my life.

so Tuesday Night posse- i'm riding! Coming in at 7am on Fridays just is too difficult after going out on Thursdays, so short of special event rides on Thursdays I'm a Tuesday man for the near future. What's the plan tonight?

We're going to ride every trail we can find in the seattle city limits, and then go home and go to bed early.

In case it will affect your plans, I'd like to remind everyone that it's Shostakovich's 101st birthday.

It's the nine-point circle. I have no idea, but I am sure many in this group can explain its significance. It was the preferred selection after a brief google images search.

I loved highschool geometry (I carried my compass in my pocket), but some of this shit just gets too crazy and I stop caring.

Friday my friend. You may remember from back in your days in the tax brackets of the peasentry the restrictions of limited income and biweekly pay periods.
And unless you want me to mail you a check like the rest of the creditors, you'll need to meet me halfway to get your C-Note. Call me and plan to be around some time this weekend, preferrably on Sunday.
Ulock my bike and I'll Ulock your arm around your neck.

what the fuck? you just went from friday to sunday. this is fucking ridiculous.
you should bring it on thursday, because we'll both be there, and because you paying is like pulling teeth.

that's fine. I work in Bellevue of I-90 and live in West Seattle. You can meet me after work on the Eastside, downtown, or out in my end of town. If we end up going out on Fridya, I can even meet you in the northend. \
As of now, I'll be free all night

a) I won't be out on Thursday.
b) After I never heard from you two weeks ago, I paid other bills off. I won't have it until Friday.
I could have given you a comperable bicycle from the one that I accidentally wrecked 6 months ago, but that wasn't good enough.

Sweet, I'll go home then and get my rain gear. because riding in the rain with no rain gear is fun. Real fun.

Well, that's my history lesson for the day. What's the next subject? We've already got math out of the way.

I used to like chemistry, but it was another thing I just stopped caring about. What's a "Lewis Base HOMO"? And "Electromagnetic Radiation Induced Excitation and Relaxation" is looking at porn, right?

I'm sure it has some sort of astrological significance, but to me, the nine-point circle is the fundamental of celestial time superimposed on terrestrial time. In other words, you need it for celestial navigation (i.e. how people got around before GPS).
The key is that you need three accurately measured stars, and a three dimensional fixed (known) position on Earth, and you can determine your local time and three dimensional position relative to the three stars and fixed position on Earth. Plus, you get the three positions on Earth that share two of the stars' right ascensions and declinations with you, transposed only by their local time.
Ultimately, this is completely useless towards getting a social life or winning team trivia at the local bar, which is why I pretty much brain dumped it after Navigation 402.

I think I'm going to sit tonight out. I'm still trying to get my gf to come along, and she started coming down to a cold this morning, which I started showing symptoms of a cold this afternoon. As appealing as a ride in the rain and drizzle tonight sounds, I don't think it'd the be the smartest thing to do with a cold brewing in me. Instead I'm going to go home, drink hot toddies and eat chicken soup.
So you'll have to wait until Thursday to see my magical flask (see the Point83 Gear thread).

I'm sitting this one out. I actually took a nasty spill in the middle of Pine St. at full speed this morning so my hip isn't really feeling long distance tonight. I'm just a little banged up and the bike seems fine, so no worries, I'll see you guys on Thursday. Have fun for me.
