So Derrick asked me a couple weeks to teach him the basics of screen printing.
well it's happening on sunday if any of you other motherbitches want to come too.
I have a couple screens, fabric paint, process colors, blah blah blah. Derrick is going to be doing a photo emulsion screen, but I learn ya's stencil, hand painting, or the photo emulsion process.
hit me up tonight or with a PM if you're interested.
oh and I don't like mornings, period. so sometime after I wake up.
EDIT:
SUNDAY say noonish, call if you get lost (but I'll still laugh at you)
things to bring:
1. a screen, unless you just want to watch. screens are cheap $5-20 depending on size. they are also reusable (sometimes)
2. a design idea. if you want to try out the photo emulsion process take your design to kinkos and have it printed to transparency film. hand painting is cake and doesn't really require much prep work. if you have a stencil idea I have exactos.
3. beer
4. beer for me
a note about the photo emulsion. if the design is a simple black and white design with hard lines then you don't really need to do anything special. if say you have an image with "gray" areas you will need to convert said image to a halftone (gray's are converted to dithered dots).
I live on the hill... 1717 16th Ave. #19 (about a block from the madison market)

oh and there will be some siting around while the screens expose/prep/whatnot. bring beer, a book, or whatever. or my wife can kick you ass at mortal kombat.

It's my birthday, the release of the most recent Magic set, and my day off. I think I have too many other things to do this no matter how much I want to.

I have the hottest coffee setup in Point83. Just saying coffee party at my place sounds like fun. Even though I almost got some screens yesterday.

Hey that's weird, I worked at a small independent screen printing shop in NC for over a year doing this stuff. I'm sure I could figure it out, but I've never done anything without having at least a small color press. My old boss told me I could have one of the old six color presses from the shop when I left but I had no where to put it and lord knows, no way to move it.
