Anyone know a person who religiously rides Critcal Mass and is very into the whole deal with that. Bicycles are traffic, etc. I don't want anyone who just rides critical mass just for the fun of it and to block traffic or show their bare ass to the public...although that being fun, I would like someone very adult & serious.

I'm not sure if David Shapiro forums here, but maybe he would be a good candidate.

Please let me know if you know anyone. I have to do an interview for school with someone who has a message to get across. I would like it to be something bike related & especially what critical mass truly stands for.

Let me know asap, it's due in two weeks. I would need to interview next saturday at the latest.

I do forum here, but "very adult and serious" isn't, I hope, the right set of descriptors for me.
I am into the whole "bicycles are traffic" thing, but I would be uncomfortable being a spokesperson for CM; I think one of the defining characteristics of CM is that it is spokespersonless.

Here's me passing the buck: I think Aaron, or Nygaard, or Alex K. from 20/20, or Haulin' Colin, or shucks, Ro! he's "very adult" would be good bets.

That said, email me: dashap327@mac.com if you still wanna talk, or check out 327 Words for all the times I've mentioned Critical Mass in a post:

I don't know about adult and very serious, just old and silly.
What are they looking for? I think a lot of us are serious about bicycle as transportation plus.

by "adult & serious" I meant being able to answer questions well and with alot of thought and not just "well because it's totally cool man!" and I don't really need anyone to be a spokesman for "critical mass" per say but someone who is trying to get a message across and actually doing something about it publicly to get that message across. Also someone who is willing to talk and not too hard to get a hold of. I would like to do something bike related, the other two people in my group want to interview a priest &/or actors....and I'm not really interested in either of those ideas.

Anyway lemme know:) BTW this is for a graphic design/publishing arts/photography media mix class. I am the graphic designer. we will pick out a person to interview & all together come up with questions. After the interview is done we compile the questions into two sections....which will have two sides to the person being interviewed. Then we have to make two visuals for the two sides of the person & present it to the class. Kinda strange, but I have two weeks to finish everything off and present it to the class.

BTW Hi Dave! Don't know if you still need those fenders but they are at the shop still.

Not trying to volunteer anyone here, but CM is spokespersonless for several reasons. Why not try SeattleLikesBikes? I know their founders/leadership are frequenters here.

I'm going to second Lee's suggestion, because these people are very adult, and a lot more radical than a lot of us, really. Also, David Hiller loves to talk, so you'll get quite the interview.

However, What David Hiller says on record will be as the Cascade Advocacy director, and NOT as a representative of Critical Mass. If you really want what people at Critical Mass think, you'll just have to interview people there, and see what you think.

Thanks guys. Seems the group is steering towards the priest, but if that doesn't work out I will get David Hiller....sounds perfect!

I would actually suggest AGAINST having ANYONE spokesperson for CM...EVER!!!

The whole principle of CM is to be a mass...leaderless and agendaless. Crating a "spokesperson" puts a face to it, which is counter to the meaning.

15 years of a worldwide movement, if it doesn't have a spokes person by now, it shouldnt EVER!!!

Now, if you need an interview about maybe what Critical Mass means to a specific person...then great... but i'd suggest going to the next CM and interview at random...thats more fitting.

Good points about cm. Did you read the atricle in the new Bicycle Mag(that has way to many car ads) about the Critical Mess?

I did a search on their site and found nothing on CM. Can you get me a story title or web link?

I read it and tried to look for it too so that I could post it here, no luck. It was called "Critical Mess," and it was.
