Does anyone know of good Visio or graphics libraraies for drawing road lane, sharrows, bike lanes, etc. in Visio? ...or in a cheap or free app?

I was thinking I'd mock up the current config of Stone Way along with the various dangers that the transitions between each treatment introduce, but I am disappointed with the stock library of road shapes.

Thanks

I have never had much luck finding free graphics libraries for Visio. Everyone thinks they're entitled to money for making basic shapes.

Not sure if you use SketchUp at all, or if 3-D is even appropriate for this project, but the searchable graphics warehouse grows daily and users seem to like sharing. Everything is free. I didn't see anything specifically for bike lanes, but there are lots of hits for bicycles, street signs, roads, road lanes, etc.

I've actually got a stack of traffic sign layouts complete with precise dimensional layout lines on it. Sadly, I'm stupid and forgot to write down the URL. It was one of the first Google hits for traffic sogns or traffic sign paint or something along those lines. The files I printed were .jpg but IIRC, they had other file types for free.

Oh yeah, just thought I'd add, we should start making full scale model traffic signs for the home and garden. I've got materials, I just need some labor.

Visio 2007 has a online search for shapes; but I'm not finding anything that I think you're after.

Yeah, I searched for shapes online too, and I'm not opposed to paying for a library if it is good and saves me time.

I like the 3D views that sketchup has, I just need to spend some time learning how to use it. I guess even if I have to draw everything by hand, the textures and 3D perspectives from sketchup might be worth it to play around with different placements of cyclists vs. cars and show the different camera angles to illustrate dangers.

One cool model I found in sketchup has a skeleton riding a bicycle.
