Becuase I'd rather ride with pretty blonde girls in polkadot dresses.

Glad y'all made it to the party.

hills are rad...

Hills warm you up.

To everyone being Bitchy McBitcherson:

I won't deny you have valid complaints. Going up to the top of Queen Anne and circling aimlessly, going in and out of pointless parking lots and generally irritating each other is not the best of times. On the other hand, drama-llamaing on the interblag is lame and probably counterproductive.

Lets rise above it and attempt to have awesome rides in future. Maybe next ride one of you will have an unexplored route to someplace we have been, or an interesting new place we should go.

Till then, hang in there guys:

Y'all shoulda pulled into a bar up there somewhere for some liquid moral booster. We did stop at that park...

With teh cold, we can now bike around with perishable foods in our bags, yay, which means someone needs to orchestrate a white russian ride.

Descending Soviet Hipster Capitol Hill you don't pedal bike, bike pedal you.

sometimes the rides are really long, sometimes they are short, sometimes we go really far, sometimes we drink our selves into oblivion. it is what you make it. meet a new friend, have a drink, see the city, and be glad you're on a bike

keep complaining and ill assfuck each and every one of you people.

You're right Lee, everyone who comes out in the winter would rather be sitting at home doing nothing. We only come out so that you can lead us around fucking aimlessly, with no clear destination, trying as hard as you can to show us what a great biker you are. No one comes out for a fun ride with fun people. Our only desire is to chase your stupid ass around. Without your perfect wisdom, we would would scatter to the wind like seeds of a dandelion.

Attacking Langston is one thing, that's plain good 'ol Merican fun. Attacking our lone bastion of morality is another thing altogether. Besides, can't someone who is "a little more radical than most" handle a hill and a parking lot? Maybe the parking lot was a little too extreme. They can be tricky after all.

I think this thread deserves an award:

Seriously, I'm a firm believer in the part where anyone can lead a ride, and there have been several occasions where I have ended up leading a ride because I have somewhere I think we should go. For each and every one of you: If you think a ride sucked, it's your fault.

All the rides are fun unless you choose not to have any, or require a trip to a hospital.

I didn't even make it out and I had a good time.

Me too. Well, I made it out, but I had to make a major detour (forgot my wallet at work; they wouldn't have let me into the pub without it) and ended up having a great time. As previously stated.

Daylight savings time hasn't even ended yet, isn't it a little too early in the season for everyone's S.A.D. to be kicking in? I recommend the chocolate guinness cake at Pies & Pints. If anyone can be grumpy after eating some of that, then there's always the Aurora Bridge.

You know, that used to be one of my favorite streets, seeing how I live on Westlake and all. Back when there was no SLUT and north of Denny it was 4 lanes one way northbound.

Now it sucks. I've been calling / writing SDOT about throwing down some sharrows in the left (center most) lanes but they haven't gotten back to me.

Mmm.. hills. I look forward to that and next year's Polka Dot Rocker. Also, I got the drag brake on the tandem now, so anybody want to climb/descend some mountains?

Oh, and y'all can stop complaining any time now.

The FHR is fucking awesome beyond words. I have never been more wet, dirty, and cold (stupid fucking raceblades) and had more fun in my life. Even if you don't race-race it, it's still a blast. Although we need more chili this year.

I'm on it. I made about 10 pounds worth of beef into chili for that one. I guess people were just hungry and liked it. I'm planning on 20 pounds this time.

I'm even thinking about testing some veggie chili options.

You get some good veggie chili, and I might even be persuaded to come out and play.

yes, we'll have fuckloads more chili for next years FHR. i didnt expect quite as many people as we had.. it was a guessing game on the chili.

i guarantee fuckloads of chili next year. and lots more veggie (shannon already asked about making that)

my mom lives right by the end of the race, ive even talked her into bringing the chili and prizes down so we wont have to lug all that crap over there.

speaking of the FHR, im already in the process of talking to PR people about prizes. if anyone knows anyone that could supply anything and wants to start gathering prizes a few months early, id love the help.

No, fuck that. I will go anywhere and do anything that THE GROUP wants to do. The attitude of "I don't give a shit what anyone else wants, I'm doing this and if you don't want to fuck off" is the fucking STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard in my whole fucking life. I don't care how long you've been riding point83, if you fucking think that is an acceptable way to lead this group you obviously have no idea what this group is about.

This group is about riding bikes along questionable routes with questionable clearheadedness. If you think THE GROUP is about anything else, you haven't been paying attention. So, shut up, I would say.
