Just cross the street where there's no crosswalk on to the sidewalk, ride on the sidewalk, ride in the crosswalk, and then make a left turn out of the crosswalk before you reach the other sidewalk!
At least now if I ever get shit for magically converting from a pedestrian in a crosswalk to a vehicle in the road I can point to this for proof that it's legal.

BTW, the Seattle City Council agenda for Tuesday, May 6th, the 9am meeting (but this is at the end, so probably around 10:00 or 10:30) includes:
Seattle Streetcar Network Concept Plan
Presenter: Grace Crunican, Director, Seattle Department of Transportation
BRIEFING
...since it is a briefing, there probably won't be time for public comments in the meeting.

You find yourself on your bike on 8th ave facing NW. Nevermind that you had to cross 7th, which turns into Dexter, or Westlake to get here. There's a sign that says you can get to Lake Union Park!
What's that? You can't see the sign. Allow me to zoom in.
Do it! You turn right (NE) on to Bell. Uh, you're on the left edge of the lane because of an obvious obstacle.
But give it a minute and you'll be on the right edge of the lane. The bike only lane that's not the width of the whole street like the one on NE 40th under Eastlake.
You have a special light.
Follow the green line across. It's not a crosswalk, no peds allowed!
And then keep following that green line east a little bit...
And finally you'll be on 9th Ave N.
The sign is readable over here!
And drivers have nice subtle "don't right hook the cyclists" dashed line at the intersections
You're now sitting just south of Republican about here. The bike lane merges into traffic. There are no more directional signs. Good luck getting to Lake Union Park from here, fucker.
A vehicular cyclist will have to travel on Westlake to reach the park. Why didn't you just ride straight down Westlake from 8th anyway?
This is ksep reporting from the .83 action news team. Back to Joby in the studio to talk about south end of the ballard bridge.

Just another 5 months or so and it might magically go another 4 blocks or so...

SeattleLikesBikes page updated.
I'm drafting a letter to the city council members too. It might be good to for more people to remind them that we are watching what they do with the streetcar network proposal.
