Locking up someone else's bike with your lock is not cool. If someone is an idiot and locks up improperly, that's their problem; if someone makes a choice to lock their bike up improperly, there very well may have been a reason. What if that had been a messenger or otherwise someone in a hurry?
It's like the say, the road to hell is paved with broken U-locks.
