Best I've gotten so far is 48 (out of 50). No, I'm not using a dictionary.
P.S. I now know what a lobster liver is called.

chamfron = horse’s head armor
cerumen = earwax
cuspidor = spittoon
I'm going to use each word in a sentence tomorrow. I'm really glad I now know a synonym for "spittoon"

Wait, you didn't know 'cuspidor'?
Btw, lobster liver = tomalley. Apparently a combination liver/pancreas, according to the interwebs.
