God damn....
I've been seeing this shit outside of hipster high(SCCC) lately. They really should ride a bmx, a unicycle or a giant rollerblade if they're going to try to do "aggressive urban tricks".
I don't know what else to say. It makes fun of itself better than I ever could.
Thank you Eric for sharing- I've already asked Santa to trick out my longboard "fix-push" stylie :)

Good riddance. I saw some great bands there--but who wants to wait through 4 hours of mediocre openers beforehand? It always pissed me off that the headliners never went on until like 12.

awe, did you have to wait (sob) to hear one band?
boo-hoo, here,l et me get you a tissue.
I was THERE when it opened! That place was an institution, not like i'd expect the 20 somethings to recall what the Croc did for the music scene, you were probably sucking on a tit. It was probably one of the only venues that had decent sound and ambiance...although I could have done without the pole in the middle of the floor.
I recall seeing Mother Love Bone, Mudhoney, AIC, Hammerbox, My Sisters Machine, Gruntruck, Tad...and countless acts that put Seattle on the music map...aka, the grunge era. I loved working shows there!
Waiting for bands...duh, it helps get new groups discovered...Death Cab, Modest Mouse come to mind...ring any bells? It's sad that all the cool old clubs (Rckcndy, off ramp, ok hotel, sit and spin, the ORIGIONAL vouge) are nothing but history. Sure it wasnt the greatest place, but it was history, it was part of what MADE Belltown back then (fuck...writing those words makes me OLD!).
Too bad this town has gone the route of allowing its soul to get sucked dry. Just wait till your favorite dive bars get boarded up for no good reason, then you'll understand my angst.

Trevor you old fart, stop brandishing your cane at me before you fall out of your wheelchair, uh, I mean, trike.
One thing on which we can agree: the croc's closing is yet another sign of seattle's sad transformation into someplace that only caters to bourgeois fuckchimps. Do me a favor. Go to the Baranoff and have an overpriced Ranier for me.

it was a super short notice birthday party, either ben or henry called me up in a drunken state and they kept switching the phone off back and forth. they were out and about with the santa thing and i told them to give up that shit and come dance off with their pants off. they said they would, but never showed!
