This is a ride for the Pagans and the Jews!! Raz and I briefly discussed this. It should be fun. Drunken. We should make plans to do something unique and holiday-esque.

We did the christmas light ride last Tuesday and it proved to be... oh, not bad, though I was pretty creeped out by most of the displays. I like the idea of burning stuff. Fitting of Solstice...

Does anyone know of a good place to burn stuff that is NOT Golden Gardens? Some cool park off the beaten path, something along those lines?

so at 8pm I am going to throw in the extended edition of Return of the King... I've been watching the LOTR extendeds while I have been bedridden

anyone who hasnt seen the third one (the extended was never theatrically released) is welcome to come over... I can fit about a dozen people in the theatre...

tomorrow I am thinking of a christmas movie so top on the list are "The Kingdom" by Lars Von Trier (6 hours) and or Conan the barbarian... maybe ju-on or Go-zu... neitherof which I have had a chance to watch...

If anyone has closetland on dvd I used to watch that every xmas...

I'll be on Vashon tomorrow until 5pm at least.

I will likely not have internet between now and then.

Sketchy, I'll drop you a line as I am getting on the ferry back to the mainland.

This is what I read while skimming this thread:

Rereading it to confirm your plans was very sad for me. It ruined my "Jews love the Pope!" punchline.

Sigh...

Like Joby, I may be busy at the ride's start and not busy after. Can someone who is definitely coming post their number so we can catch up?

P.S. Bush Garden, along with a number of other ID restaurants with bars, will surely be open. And should the weather not suck, perhaps Denny-Blaine would be a good place for a mini-bonfire.

yup... west seattle is whiter than antonio montana's desk top...

I can switch out hot chocolate for beer if ya head out to my parts...

and I have a fire pit...

but I may not be here... so call me if y'all are thinkin of heading this way...

if I was in health to ride with you guys, I would go down to Lincoln park and build a fire in their fireplace... I think that ishands down the coolest shelter in the city... particularly when there is weather to look at...

so if y'all go there... give me a call.. I might even be game to drive some wood down to ya, at least to the parking lot...

I'm sure Earl's on the Ave is open (sign out front says they're open 365 days a year). But I will likely just hang out at home eating BBQ and Chinese leftovers.

Sketch just rang me askin about the ride and if anyone's planning. *ack!*

I myself am bowing out of riding tonight as I've been nursing a scratchy throat and runny nose and have no intention of getting worse by riding the slushy rain.

But I've spent all of Christmas by myself so far and still plan on meeting up with you kids to get all nice and toasty if you don't end up outside. If you guys still ride I'll meet up with you when you stop at some crazy bar that's open on Christmas.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I've got no idea where we're going, but my phone # is 206-330-4914, and I'm heading off to ride. You can call me until 10pm, but after that I will be trying to get some sleep: a full day of 4-year old wrangling awaits me tomorrow.

That ride was épic! And a disaster! The first Tuesday .83 Christmas ride ever!

Mark your calendars for 2008, the first Thursday .83 Christmas ride ever. It's sure to be epicly disastrous.

I enjoyed a few drinks with Sketch and Raz at the Monkey Pub shortly after most of you kids left. It was actually a blast, though no bike riding was involved.

Highlight of the night:

Laughing my ASS off to the delight of Raz's theatrical facial expressions while passing gas... from either direction. My belly still hurts from laughing so hard!

I am SO offended! I belched prodigiously I will admit, but the farting was (almost) entirely Sketchy's domain.
