That is all.

bench vise, a grip of Park tools, a new coat, a headlight, a rack for the Prius, a digital camera, a new kitchen knife and the usual socks/underwear stuff.
I gave better presents than I received, I feel like I won.

I got to spend the day with my wife and two good friends, which is exactly what I wanted.
Got some stuff too, but the time with friends and family was way better.

pair of sidi's, new dremel, couple kick ass bike t-shirts, wusthof steak knives, a blanket that actually covers my feet, and the bath robe that brad pitt wore in fight club...
and a bunch of other crap that I can't think of...

I got a decent amount of fresh powder and my first run down International of the season. Unfortunately Jesus was angry at me for not properly celebrating his birth and took the powder away in places, leaving wind scoured ice.
Then out for Chinese at Bamboo Garden.
I did buy myself a pair of snowshoes last weekend, and my mom sent me a very nice wool sweater I will be wearing on rides.

I want one of those, but I would have to ride my bike to get any use out of it. Who would want to do that?

books, spices, a gift certificate to my favorite wool shop and a 30 mile ride on X-mas Eve, as well as time with my adopted clan . oh, and a wind-beaten merry jaunt out to Pt. Townsend over the weekend.
now on to plotting mischief for the new year...

I got to hang out with my wife all day, and she even spent some time helping me with the basement remodel. In the evening we had a great dinner with her mom and one of our close friends.
We didn't do gifts this year, and I liked that.
Yesterday I bought myself a lathe. It's a tiny tiny baby lathe, but will do what I want. I did drive up to Bellingham to look at real lathes at Grizzly International, but decided that I really didn't need something so big. I had wanted this:
(hard to tell from the image, but that is over 4' wide, size is 10x22)
I ended up with a variation on this (bought on craigslist):
(about 2' wide, 7x12" size)
With the ~$700 that I saved maybe I can justify getting a baby mill too.

Yup. What do you want to make?
Here is some of my "to build" list:
* shifter mounts for gripshift-style shifters in drop bars
* in-line thermometer for refilling the aquarium
* cantistud brazeon fixture
* little bits for racks

I can't wait 'til I one day have kids. Cause then X-mas will be me buying them all the legos and videogames I want to play with, and spending the day playing. Though, I do hate sharing.

Christmas was great with lots of time with the family rather than at the office.
Gift-wise my highlights were a pair of Sidis and a San Marco Regal saddle.
I was glad to be able to make the tail end of the Disaster for a little karaoke.
I hope to ride more with all of you in 2008.
Best,
James

I dunno, one of my coworkers just told me that his high school aged daughter just agreed to marry her boyfriend of ~3 months.
I'll buy my own video games and leggos I think.

I can one-up that. My neice (my older sister married a widower), a 18yo highschool dropout waitress just got knocked up by her 17yo pizza deliveryboy boyfriend.
I'm hoping for a boy if I somehow breed.

I got a bass amp, headphones, snowboarding movies, and then I went scuba diving. There were eels, Grand Cayman was dope. Today I worked on bikes with my dad and he gave me some of his old tools which is pretty sweet... I wish I knew people in Portland that like to ride in the rain.

I was in Portland riding in the rain. It was excellent. I really miss having the springwater corridor in my daily commute.
