I warned you: Destination: Yarn.

Western Washington Yarn Shops have created a 4-day tour that I plan on turning into both a ride (on Saturday, 5/17) and an alleycat (Sunday, 5/18). The yarn shops supply the checkpoints, via a passport that they will stamp for you. I just need to come up with some rules and prizes.

Likely, I'll run it something like this: On Saturday, a ride either to the south (to the shops in Renton, Kent, Burien, and West Seattle) or the north (shops in Everett, Mukilteo, Lake Forest Park, Mill Creek and Edmonds). On Sunday, an alleycat of the seven or so shops in north and central Seattle, ending at a family-friendly establishment at around 6pm (when the tour officially ends). Prizes based on your speed on Sunday, plus extra prizes for people who have more stamps on their passport (presumably gathered on earlier days).

My only problem is I know nothing about getting prizes. I'm more interested in biking prizes than yarn prizes, but either would suffice. Feel free to give me stuff, offer up your advice on hitting up local bike stores, or I'll corner you on a ride if I know you've done this before.

Oh, yeah, and I guess I need a flyer, too. If you want to rescue me from my graphic incompetence, feel free.

Ben, your enthusiasm is like the sweet smell of bacon frying in the morning.

And congratulations, by the way.

Huh huh. You said "épic".

As loathe as I am to say it, since I'm sure Henry will take this as his cue to do the opposite, I don't want a fucking sticky for, oh, say, the next 4 months.

I'd appreciate some help if you want to offer it, because it's going to take me 4.5 months to get this together. Otherwise, I just want to make an announcement, and this thread can go lurk on page 3 for a while.

Everyone knows that I am already planning the event furthest in the future: Beacon Bomb 2009.
