In my time in Seattle I saw quite a few older buildings, of which Seattle has but a few anyways, torn down or slated for the chopping block. I wondered why more of these buildings weren't deemed landmarks. I used to think it was because the landmarks preservation board was too weak to fight developers, corrupt, or both. Now I think the reason why they let so many nice old buildings be demolished is that they have really really bad taste:
I know everyone will be glad when that thing is around in 50 years.

fuck yeah!!! my wife and I totally had christmas dinner there last year. we we're sad to see it boarded up and it totally fucked up our christmas this year, well not really. but who doesn't love a denny's?!?

I went bowling there last night. The bowling part of the bowling alley is in terrible condition, it was basically luck to hit the pins as you intended.
