bikepirates

So, someone took pictures of Lance Armstrong getting on a tall bike in Austin. That's not what's remarkable. What's remarkable is that the other people in that picture paid good money to look like they do. Hoo-doggies, it's a hipster douchebag-o-rama!

Dude, you are wearing a bandanna in your avatar and you ride a fixed gear.

Making fun of the very style you emulate? Overrated.

you should repost those pics for people who have LJ blocked at work. I saw them last night and lol'd. The guy with the moustache looked like he had just crapped his drawers.

There's a massive gap between occasionally wearing a bandanna and having a mullet. Good try. Please try again later.

1. Lance is gone for 10 minutes on a tallbike.
2. Widespread UFO sightings in Texas.

Coincidence?

I think not.

I have a mullet. I aim to have hair like that guy. I don't try to necessarily look hip, I just try to incorporate a certain amount of sleaze into my image.

And you get teased for it too, and you don't care! If you're gonna say y'all, you might as well have a trashy mullet to go with it.

naked middle aged dudes on tall bikes,
vatos on lowriders,
tom ritchey on wooden bikes in rwanda,
lance in child labor garb and shooz,
sounds as if we're all looking to be real in our own awkward wayz

I faintly sense that not looking in the first place may just be the way to go...

ya know, that's funny, and heres why...

lifted unscrupulously from BSNYC;

"If you're unfamiliar with tall bikes, they are essentially two really crappy frames welded together to create one extremely crappy bike, and they satisfy the age-old human compulsion to sit up high and look ridiculous. Tall bike enthusiasts are generally the sorts of people who developed a distain for authority relatively late in life, and so they engage in adolescent hijinx into adulthood instead of stopping after middle school like the rest of us. They also refuse to get jobs and they tell their parents to "shut up" well into their 30s."

sounds correct enough.
