This year, Cascade is running the "Clif Bar Chilly Hilly 2008"

I think the Fuck The Hills Race should consider selling naming rights.

Possible options:

"The MD20/20 Fuck The Hills Race 2008"
"The Summer's Eve Fuck The Hills Race 2008"
"The State Fair Brand Corn Dog Fuck The Hills Race 2008"

now now. There's nothing wrong with corporate sponsorship. I'm pretty sure all the prizes last year didn't magically hatch out of Derrick's dirty laundry.

But it wasn't "The Odwalla Fucking Hills Race Brought to you by Toyota, and PBR"

Yea, I think we should boycott all businesses that sell cliff bar products. The audacity of them. A company whose bread and butter is cyclists supporting cyclists. It's absurd, outrageous, I'm incensed. We need to Tame the PowerBar, Seattle Hates Cliff, Gu JIHAD!!!

More ACTIVISM, more planning!

Moderator, I demand a sticky (after all there aren't any up there right now).

I'm not saying that we should boycott anything, or engage in activism, or not eat clif bars (though they are kinda nasty). Just, I dunno, sometimes corporate sponsorship seems to intrude upon everything we do, and it's nice to have a space where you're not constantly bombarded with inducements to buy anything, even if it means you get to pay a little more to play.

Last I checked we weren't exactly welcome participants in this little ride around the island, so I think we're doin' fine.

Let them have their cliff bars. I am pretty our ride will be be unofficially sponsored by cheap whiskey, cheaper beer and will contain a few more "safety" meetings than theirs.

We are always much safer than Ka$$Kade, there's no question there.

Looking forward to another quality .83 sponsored event!
