i remember pulling a minibike chariot from westlake up to the cobj, and going the stupidest way while doing so.

Straight up the slope? Climbing over I-5?
Here's the stupidest way I ever went up Beacon Hill, towing Emmett in the Burley no less: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1592104. Earlier in the ride I towed him up Graham Hill over cobblestones. Not one of my better route-picking days.

worse, imo. how about up through all the stairs through freeway park? granny gears i got, but doesn't really help when you're trying to manhandle a bike + giant trailer-thing up stairs.

I bow to your superior stoopidity. Although I still think crossing the lanes of I-5 would have added a dash of elan to the route.
