actually, this can be a thread for other people, I just decided I am going to sit under the eclipse and grind up artemisia leaves for a special occasion next month.
Have fun y'all.
I was thinking of riding out to hobart or someplace where there would be a decent view.

Oh fuck a pig!!
so it looks like it is going to be a kickin night for eclipse gang stalking.
I might split duties this evening and try to do an eclipse ride and some nefarious chemognostic prepermarations.
I'll sit around at 6pm in red square for a few minutes and if anyone cares to join me... we can act like demonic squirrels and head someplace dark and worship satan.

I took the Counterbalance to my sister's house and then we went back to that little "park" at 5th and Lynn to admire the moon.
It was a perfect night for it.

The kinda cool flipside of waffling and riding home was cruising up delridge as the eclipse was starting...
Stopped at 5 different bus stops/mini-marts where there were hoodies and the typical delridge critters hooding about and pointed out the eclipse to them.
I think I induced at least 20 or so really rather amazing instances of awe in people who rarely focus on the natural world. All I had to do was point up and say... "Did you see the eclipse" and their jaws would drop and they would make oooohs and awwwes and whoas... That was about as cool of an experience as you could have.
It's depressing that their daily existence does not involve awareness of celestial events or even the tendency to look up in the sky and make basic observations. but such is the world.
anyone get to see the satellite get shot down?
